My new Space Invaders cabinet (midway 1978) has some strange lighting. Someone had attached a strip light to the front top inside of the cab and that was it!
Anyway, opened up the back and replaced the strip light behind the moon. Looks blooming beautiful now. My question is, should there be any other lights anywhere? Was there originally a strip light at the front illuminating the space invaders sign or any lights anywhere else (apart from behind the moon)?
Thanks in advance

There were several small bayonet-style bulbs in the front for the top of the monitor glass. They were all housed in a section of wood that's easy to remove (with 2 screws). I can get a picture of it if you'd like, as there isn't one in the manual.
That makes sense. How many bulbs were there? A picture would be FANTASTIC. Please. Can you post it here or send it to my email address sontaranleader@googlemail.com
Thank you

Is it possible to turn the monitor brightness down on my Space Invaders cab?
I think the trouble is bightness as i have visable bands of lights across the monitor. This would be less abvious if I turned it down a bit?

Is this possible in a space invaders cab? I love the noise they make when they move

Yes, there's both contrast and brightness knobs on those monitors. It's hard to see, but the knobs are marked on the metal chassis (looking at it from the front).
Thank you mate

Hey
With my Space Invaders cab, the front bezil screen is low enough for there to be a gap between it and the top of the cabinet. The way the bottom is shaped makes me think it should be resting on something (not the top of the control panel)
Am I right? Should there be a removeable bar there or something?
Thanks in advance

There should be a metal bar that the bottom of the bezel sits in that raises it up to the proper height.
BTW you could post all these questions in one SI thread. We'll probably merge them at some point.
