Just saw the trailer video for this game and I am excited. I can not wait to lay my hands on this one. It should make up for TMNT Tournament Fighters from years back. Anybody else planning on picking this game up when it is released?

I wouldn't say the SNES version of TMNT Tournament Fighters needs to be apologized for. It's an excellent SFII clone. The Genesis version is very bad, but the SNES one is quite awesome. A clone of Smash Bros. would have less depth than a clone of SFII by default.
That said, this should be cool, though it will definitely be full of the updated voices and music; which pale in comparison to the original TMNT cartoon in its heyday.

The cartoon isn't the original either, you know.
I wish they'd make one of these games with all incarnations of the TMNT playable just so we could literally fight about which is best.

Well aware. Btw, your idea is a great one, but that'd never happen unfortunately.

I would agree the best console only fighter of the 16-bit era IMO.

I'm more excited about TMNT: Arcade Attack. Smash Bros. Brawl is ok, not that great.

Definitely. The NES one sucked pretty badly too. I remember waiting for our video store to get the NES version. I rented it, played it for maybe 10 minutes, and never touched it again. :p

It's got some competition for that title. Eternal Champions CD and Weaponlord are pretty good as well.
