Back in July I was lucky enough to spend a few days back in Metaire, LA, visiting my Mom and my old house. While there, I stumbled upon a handful of old videogame books I'd bought back in the early 80's. I'm guessing some of you might find them interesting too, and have just scanned in the front covers, for your viewing pleasure.

Gotta love how the first DK guide you have listed is written by Steve Sanders!

wasn't that the DK guide that was in King of Kong?

There's a bunch here too:

I still have some of those "Secrets of the games" books lying around with their ridiculous covers, although they're not on the site.

Scrolling through the list because I remembered a green book my mom bought me but didn't remember the name. This is it.

Games I remember for sure that it had in it. Blaster Master, which I tried to use but really didn't help me in getting any further. At the time I was still on the boss of stage 5(I think,) and the guide didn't help. Really good read though.

I remember it also had some Metroid codes in it too.

I've had the "How to Win at Nintendo" books since I was a kid, and ended up finding a complete set for $.50 at a garage sale recently. I gave my old set to a friend of mine, and I still have an extra orphan #2 that you have pictured. I also ended up finding a pink "How to Win at Mario" book at the same garage sale that I never knew existed, which included the newly released Six Golden Coins game.

It's awesome to see that there are others out there as well. I may well end up picking those up online somewhere, as I've started getting into collecting old video game books and strategy guides. Thanks for the pictures and the reminder.

I have a "how to win at nintendo" book that my friend gave to me. My elementary school had a how to win at arcade games book that I tried to keep, but ended getting pressured by my mother to return....dammit! it's not like any dumb kid nowadays will wanna learn how to beat Qix, comon!

EDIT - actually, it was this book (gotten from the link someone supplied)
