Hell yeah I remember this game! lol I still love the first part immensely. I always loved it when I was able to do so well that the scenery itself would break/collapse, etc. especially in he Kitty-N stage. The second part wasnt as good as the first IMO mostly because of the inferior music compared to the first and the PS2 incarnation was the same as part 2 for me. As a matter of fact, I think I'll go play Bust A Groove right now :)

I think you are talking about Bust-A-Groove not bust a move. Titles a little weierd.
Bust a groove is a RARE dance time the buttons game. Kinda funny? I guess. Which I own. There is also a sequel.
Bust a move is a bubble poping game with bubble people. There have been a ton of sequels. Alot more common of a game.
I do not like either. My friend loves bust a groove and my girlfriend loves bust a move.

Bust-A-Move is also known as Puzzle Bobble.
This is of course, the other.

I still wish we had gotten the Bust a Move PS2 sequel. Unison kinda work in its place and all, but I was never all that great remembering the whole sequences.
Japanese versions trump the US ones due to song translations. The US translations, especially on Bust a Move 2 were horrible.

Bust a Groove was called Bust a Move in Japan, so he is correct in calling his import copy Bust a Move 2.
Both Bust A Groove games are pretty good. They're games that I tend to replay every once in a while.

no, i included bust a "move" because that is the original japanese title, i even stated i imported the sequel cuz its basically the same game at a fraction of the cost, hope that clears things up a bit

I love these two games and they are two of my favorite PS1 games. I have both the US and Japanese versions of BAG/BAM 1 and 2. I actually like the music of 2 and don't think it's inferior to the music of 1. They both serve their purpose and have several catchy songs(I even have the soundtrack of BAM 2).
The music, character backgrounds and certian other liberties with taken when these games was ported over to the US. Hiro's cigarette was removed and Strike's beer can was turned into a soda can. The music is basically the same in both versions except that the song's were resung by American artist. And for anyone who tells you the Japanese versions of the songs were better than the US versions, I can assure you that 99.9% of those people don't speak a word of Japanese and wouldn't know anyway(just like anime).
I would recommend getting both versions of each to compare all the little differences. They are both great games that were extremely underated compared to tuff like Parappa(a good game in it's own right).

Oh most Japanese stuff translated over is horrible, that there is little question about. I just prefer the Japanese versions of the songs, especially the Bust A Groove 2 stuff.

Hell yeah! Loved Bust A Move back in the day! My buddies and I would play the crap out of that game and Tekken 3. I played the import first and instantly liked the music, so I went out and ordered a copy of the soundtrack; one of my first import cd's!
Didn't really care for the second game as much and never played the PS2 incarnation. Glad I picked up Bust A Move back in the day!
"Very very very very very very good!"

I've rented it before. Legend of Legaia has a mini game version of it which is what I mostly remember.

Fair enough. With games that let you switch the dialogue from English to Japanese between levels(like Otogi), I utilize this in the same way that I would compare the voices in US and import versions of games. I've never thought that the Japanese versions were light years ahead of the US versions but it does seem that the US versions tend to take their voice overs alittle less serious.

I have had the PS2 version for about four years and still haven't gotten around to play it. I blame it on my lack of having an import PS2. But from what I've heard it isn't as good as the first two games.
