wow. i was totally bleh about this game before...but after d/l'ing the demo...
this game is AMAZING. all the things that annoyed me about DMC are gone. the evade attack is easy to use (difficult to master...if you spam it, expect to eat a lot of hits), the combos flow incredibly well, the basic attacks have more flourish than a final fantasy summon...and the game has a good sense of humor. :)
it's so cool shooting enemies with your foot-gun. haha. Bayonetta effortlessly props herself up on one leg and has at it. beyond cool!
downloaded the demo on PSN, btw. i dunno if XBL has it.
it's in english too, for those who don't speak Japanese.

I'll download it later but I honestly haven't been that impressed by the trailers. It just seems like another DMC, Wet, Bulletwitch, generic third person action game.

I played a short demo of it at E3 this year and I too was impressed by it - even though it looked like a DMC clone.

It looks like a DMC clone because it's directed by Hideki Kamiya.
I'll play it sometime later. I don't like the character design of the main character is why I haven't yet.

i dunno. like i said, i was bleh about it before...just seemed like a hyper-sexualized DMC 2.0...
...but the demo totally impressed me. the moves are so crazy, yet so easy to pull off. i accidentally found out when you are doing a combo, if you hold the last button you pressed you can launch right into her one-legged foot gun thing. hard to describe, but awesome to watch.
i actually don't mind the character design. the butterfly motif is neat, and it's all so absurd and over the top it's fun. :-D

I'll admit the game is fairly fluid. I expected it to be a bit cumbersome but you really fly from one move to another. Sega has done a good job with this title from what I played in the Demo. I thought it was going to be more like Devil May Cry but the gameplay is quite different and fun.

Checked out the demo on the PS3 this morning ...
I wish I could figure out the reason why Bayonetta on PS3 is the victim of such aggressive negative hype ... if there is any frame dropping in the game, it doesn't appear to affect the demo level they've released, I played through multiple times and it seems to be as silky smooth as any Devil May Cry title.
If people want to preferentially purchase it on 360 for a more locked-down frame rate I don't see a problem with that, but the pre-release hype on the PS3 version would lead one to believe that it's running like a copy of Far Cry on a Pentium 2 with no video card, which is NOT the case.
Based on what I've played in the demo, it appears that ANY comparative difference will practically HAVE to be held up to a side-by-side comparison, and even then you probably won't find much except a few frame drops here and there (which plenty of AAA multiplatform PS3 titles have suffered from and come out with great metacritic scores and public acceptance) - otherwise you'll just have a decent game that's very capable of playing and enjoying.

It could possibly be due to this
Sony helping fix Bayonetta for PS3?
Thanks to the graphical issues plaguing the PS3 version of Bayonetta, PS3 gamers are being saddled with an arguably worse version compared to the one their Xbox 360-owning counterparts are getting. Sega and Platinum Games are apparently working overtime to remedy the problem, however.
According to a report from Gamekyo, Sega and Platinum games are taking responsibility for the PS3 version's problems. Just to show how dedicated they are to making it better, they've even enlisted the help of a Sony enginerring team to guarantee that Bayonetta's PS3 outing will measure up to the console's power.

Well, I've certainly seen umpteen articles or news bytes like that one stating that the frame rate issues on the game are severe ...
... but in playing the demo I can't fathom what they're talking about. These articles would lead you to believe that it's an utterly game-breaking experience.
If there is a disparity in the frame rate (or periodic drop-off) between the 360 and the PS3 demos it's so minor that it literally takes a visual side-by-side comparison to determine. If you plopped somebody down in front of the PS3 version of the game and asked "doesn't the frame rate suck on this game?" you'd probably be met with a confused stare.
That's not to say that there isn't a disparity under a microscope, I'm sure there is ... just that it's so minuscule from what I've personally experienced that I can't believe it's considered to be "major news" about the title.

What I meant was the demo might be an upgrade from the Japanese version. Like they released a better US demo to fit the game better since they're redoing the US PS3 version to get it on par with the 360 version.

That might be the case, because I'd feel very stupid claiming that there was anything drastically wrong with the frame-rates in the demo.

I'll just leave you with this:
Sega... I knew you still had it in you!
(this game is gonna be badass - and you know that pun is definitely intended ;) )

I'm one of the few people who actually likes Bayonetta's character design. I've played the demo on XBL using a JPN account awhile ago. It looks like a ton of fun. If you haven't tryed easy mode, do so. All you have to do is mash the Y button and the game plays itself.

cant wait to get this game, I really do hope they fix the ps3 version because I would much rather buy it on bluray than for the 360.
