Hi all, I just recently bought a honey bee converter for my top loading nes, but it won't work for some reason. I looked on the net, and my converter is actually pretty large, its red and white, and has two small pegs that come out of the bottom. Could this be for the snes?

I can't for the life of me find a picture of it on the net. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks in advance.

Can you take some pictures of it?

I hate to sound like a patronizing F---, but are you putting the Fami cart in backwards? The label has to be facing away from the players to work in a TL.

Yeah, its facing the proper way.

Yeah, I'll take a few pictures of it, and post them in this thread after work.

Is it definitely a honeybee? I have the short gold honeybee, and I know of at least a short gray and a long gray converter, but I've never seen a large white and red one.

I've had a bunch of 60 to 72 pin converters come through my hands, many of which were very unreliable. My honeybee has yet to give me any real problems.

I'd love to see some pics.

seconded

the front of the famicom game needs to face away from the front of the console, it goes against the norm of any other top loading console

Oh hell, I didn't know about the backwards cart deal with the Honeybee Converter, thanks to this topic I was finally able to play my copy of Rockman 3 (only FC cart I own so far).

Thank you Sanriostar, you're a life saver.

Sorry it took me so long to reply. But here is the picture of my Honey Bee Converter. I picked it up at the American Video Game Expo last Saturday.

Yeah. I think that looks like a reverse converter. Famicom to NES.

Maybe it's a 72pin-to-60pin converter, to allow Japanese kids to play really awesome US-only games such as Action 52 and Bible Adventures on their Famicom. :)

Look inside a Famicom cart port and you'll see that there are plastic tabs that move upwards when you move the eject latch. The pegs are there so that the converter can be ejected from a Famicom via it's eject latch, just like a cart can.

Hey, we did get StarTropics and StarTropics II while they didn't. :P

Definitely looks like a 72 to 60 pin converter.

Also, it's styled like a Famicom so most likely for playing NES games on an FC. Check the pins.

Haha, I just figured this out also after 10 years of thinking either my converter was broken or my FF3 famicom cartridge was busted, turns out they both work!
