I've been trying to get my hands on a Atari Jaguar for a little while now, but dang, they seem to be going for some really high prices.

It's kinda amazing considering that there really was only a handfull of good games for the machine.

I did love Aliens vs. Predator, Doom and Cybermorph. I even was one of the few that liked Trevor McFur in the Crescent Galaxy, but that was about the extent of it. I never even really like the Tempest game in you could believe it.

But in trying to get a Jag, it's like you have to shell out a hundred freaking bucks! (If you want to get some decent games with it)

Also, on a side note, I've noticed that 3DO systems seem to go for alot of cash now, expecially if there are around 20 games included in the deal.

I didn't notice that last time I checked. A Jag that's NIB will go for around $100 but loose with some games was only $30 or so tops. Of course it depends on what games they are. Don't let anyone tell you AvP is rare. It was the best selling game for the system, 200,000 copies plus. Almost everyone who owned the system had bought the game. Only Cybermorph should be more common. VGLQ and UGS were selling Jag base units for $10, minus PS and controllers. I read that supposedly Atari Games bought 1,000's of Jags to strip for parts they needed for their arcade machines(Area 51 etc) when they were being blown out cheap after Atari Corp bit the dust.

I wish I got these "big bucks" when I sold mine last month. A complete jag, 9 games (including AvP and Tempest 2k), all hookups and a monitor cable.... $60

To me 60 bucks is kinda big bucks, although at least you had 9 games with AVP being one of them. So I guess I can see it going that high, but it just seems like in comparison to used Saturns and used Nintendo 64's and used Super Nintendo's and Genesis's the Jag seems to go for quite a bit more.

www.ravengames.co.uk has boxed Jaguars for £20($25-ish) with one game. They are PAL 50hz but the conversion is very simple, and the power supply is external and a standard model.

Shipping will probably be a bit but sales-tax of 17.5% can be deducted from the £20.

Or, for another European oddity. Check out www.retroaction.co.uk
They have Amstrad GX400 systems boxed for £15.99($20-ish).

Ebay jaguar prices have SKYROCKETED in the past year. I had a great find of Jaguar complete/boxed, CD complete/boxed, and about 20 boxed complete games (Including avp) for about $75 shipped.

Of course, that was a GREAT find, but comparitively, that same setup will consistantly go for $250-$300+ on ebay now. A year ago, it would go for roughly $150.
