For once, I got a surprise in the mail, and it wasn't a damaged, non-working item!! I bought a Pac-mania for NES, using the BIN feature. I thought I got a great deal on it--$10 including free shipping. So I get the game in the mail today, and out falls a note along with the game, and a $5 bill. It says "Sorry, but there is a sticker on the side of the cart, and I forgot to mention it in the description. Here's $5 back. Hope this makes us even." At first, I was like, "OH CRAP. Here we go."

But I look at the sticker, and its just a minor little rental sticker. It only took 5 minutes and a bit of goo gone to get it off. So, needless to say, I am amazed. I mean, a guy who gave money back? Especially when there was free shipping? He had to net maybe $2-3 off of the sale, tops.

So I don't know what to do. Do I send the $5 back? I mean, it really wasn't a big issue. The sticker came OFF. Or, do I just chock this one up to a bit of ebay karma coming back my way, and forget about it? I already left him positive feedback. It was the LEAST I could do.

You could start with telling us the name of this wonder seller :)
We'll be sure to give him LOTS of business, and I'm sure it wouldn't hurt if we mentioned your name to him in the process :)

Here's a link to the seller's "currently selling" page. I noticed he has some other games up, but there's nothing I'm looking for.

Nice of that guy, now you have to do something nice to someone else, thats how those things work.

Someone helps you, you help someone else. Thats my theory anyway.

these things happen all the time. i bought a boxed SNES Unirally for AUS $21, and the condition of the box was shit and the seller refunded me $10.

I've given money back many times. If shipping is hard to determine I'll quote a price and tell the person that if shipping is less than the quote I will refund excess fees. I have issued this partial refund many times... other times I've understated shipping and eaten it.

I have done that before on ebay too. When I list stuff, I usually list over 100 items at once, so if I notice a major flaw on a cart when I am packing it up to ship, I will either replace the game or throw an additional game in for the buyer (along with a note explaining what I did). That usually goes over big with the buyers!
