Been looking on ebay lately for the various CD-i Zelda games (mainly Wand of Gamelon and Faces of Evil-- the other runs a bit too much for me) and had a question.
Some I see seem to come in a standard jewel case with an outer cardboard sleeve, while others come in a non-standard jewel case that has a black plastic protrusion at the top and do not appear to have a cardboard sleeve.
Are they two different releases, is one rarer than the other? I apologize for my ignorance, my game collecting consists mostly of Famicom and Famicom disk games.

Same release, different packaging. The DVD-size case was the original style for CD-i. The normal-size jewel box came a couple years later.

He's not talking about the brown plastic cases that CD-i used originally, he's talking about the ones that look like regular jewel cases, but open sideways (For the record, none of the three ever came in those big cases).
For what it's worth, I have all three games, and all in normal jewel cases... though I've seen the sideways-opening cases more often on Wand and Faces. I've never seen Zelda's Adventure in anything but a regular jewel case.

Here's my regular jewel case versions, along with the cardboard slipcovers. I've never seen a slipcover for Zelda's Adventure... I think they stopped doing those by the time it was released. Note that the manuals are actually different from the ones in the other picture (the bottom stripe is black instead of coloured, and they now have a CD-i logo watermarked into the top left corner). While it's also not visible in my pictures, the spines on my games are white with black text, rather than coloured.
It's difficult to tell from the picture, but Zelda's Adventure has a CD-i branded tray inside the jewel case... I think all copies had this originally. A lot of other CD-i games (and movies) had these too, but I'm not sure if the other two Zelda games ever did.
