Nintendo Power "free" issue

I received the Nov NP issue for buying my DSi, w/ no strings attached (I thought).

Now I get an invoice/bill for $19.95 stating "thanks again for your Nintendo Power subscription order. This is the bill for your subscripption. It is due now."

I dont recall at any time seeing anything about being locked into a subs. Anyone have any info?

I bought my DSi some time ago. I don't remember anything about a free NP issue.

99.9% sure a free issue order form was packed in w/ the DSi. I was hoping for the holiday issue, I wouldnt have done it otherwise. FWIW I also got the 1000 free DSiware pts.

I just want to know if anyone else did this, & whether the full year $20 subs. is mandatory...as I said, I dont recall it stated as such.

Nah, that's how it often goes in "free issue" deals: they do send you a free issue but then they send you a bill for a sub. Legally, they can't force you to subscribe, but you must contact them and cancel asap the subscription.
