Ok, people. I have somehow managed to get all three of these games. Which one is superior?

I know the PS2 graphics aren't as nice as the GC or Wii but it has extra levels and characters or something, no?

I'm not real good with the wii-mote or whatever you call it but I imagine the graphics must be a LITTLE nicer than the GC (though I have yet to see an improvement over the GC). Does it have progressive scan or something?

I'm thinking it's best to play the Wii version with a GC controller. However, I like the PS2 controller (much) better for this type of game.

Also, I have the option the play RE4 on a PS3... any benefits?

That's all. Thanks for any input! I'm obviously several years behind the times...

I'd assume the Wii has everything the PS2 version has plus motion control when shooting.

I've owned the PS2 and Wii versions. The Wii version has all of the content of the PS2 version plus the ability to aim using the remote. Compared to moving a stick to aim, the Wii version is so much more fun.

Graphics of wii version and gc are the same, wii version have extra content of ps2 version

Ps2 version can looks better (or like some ps2 games, worse) on ps3 but don't expect a miracle, surely, wii and gc version will still looks better than ps2 version

The GC version supported progressive scan if you had the (expensive now) component cables. The Wii version will also support progressive scan with component cable.

I only played the GC version in progressive, but I can definitely see how it would be nice to have your wiimote in a gun to aim that way. You pretty much have to stop walking in order to aim/shoot. That process would just be nicer being able to press the 'aim button' and then already having the gun pointed where you want.

I have only played the PS2 version but, personally, I find the game unplayable. One, I suck at it, two, I think the aiming is intolerable.

I have all four versions (GC, PS2, Wii, PC) of RE4. The best version is the PC version with the texture updates + 360 controller patch.

That being said, the best console version is the Wii version using a GC controller (a "hidden" option they don't make immediately obvious anywhere in the menu). Fuck the Wii-mote nonsense. It gets old quick. The Wii version is really the definitive release. The Wii version has...

1.) The Gamecube version's superior graphics.
2.) A true 16:9 aspect ratio (vs. the GC "letterbox" view).
3.) The ability to use a real controller.
4.) The PS2 version's extra content.

The only thing that's missing is the Gamecube version's superior sound. Compare the roar of the chainsaw in each version and you'll immediately understand. The Wii version's sound is still better than the PS2's.

Is that an official patch? Any pictures to see how they look? :)
