This weekend, huh? Okay, thanks for letting us know. Did'nt take long to fill up all the slots. I gotta agree with whoever made the suggestion to see if we can do this again next year on a larger scale if it works well this year.

And those people who got 'paid' by someone else -- who did you kiss up to to become so popular? :P

Even though I never win anything, I still can't wait to see what the results are. Too bad there's no second or third place prize.

Best of luck to everyone! :-D

Wishful thinking out loud.

I am so giddy about the prospect of winning this contest I think I'm going to pop. :o

I hadn't actually planned on making CGE this year due to scheduling and financial considerations.

First, I'm already making one trip to Vegas this summer with my family and in-laws (leaving tomorrow, in fact :D ). So another excursion to Sin City isn't exactly in the cards, i.e - credit cards. Secondly, the first Monday after CGE, August 11, is my wedding anniversary and my wife has some idea that, you know, I should spend the day with her or some such senitmental nonsense.

If I win, it will be my fifth trip to CGE. Excluding the 1998 "World Of Atari" event, I've seen `em all. Normally my travelling partner for the show is AltairBoy, and while I will feel a little guilty about flying coach out to Vegas in just a couple of hours (short flight from Albuquerque, you know) while he slogs his Saturn, solo, across the unforgiving Arizona desert...well, okay, I won't feel guilty...but at least we'll be at the show together, as it wouldn't feel right any other way.

Best of all, thanks to Darth Vader, I can subsist off of beef jerky and chips for the duration. That, plus, the alumni dinner, ought to keep me alive while freeing up my remaining cash for more retrogaming goodness! :-D

Oh, and I'll be back home in time for that whole anniversary thing

So remember, guys a vote for me...is a vote for me! This is a vote contest, right? :hmm:

Maybe a second round is justified, though maybe just for trip expenses only - no beef jerky. :-D

I was afraid I would have to mail my dough in. I woulda been screwed. I promised a friend my firstborn for the use of his Paypal account, but since he's still dealing with his firstborn, he settled for a promise that I wouldn't send him my firstborn.

What's wrong with beef jerky??? :D Actually if the winner doesn't want beef jerky, I can send more chips instead (since I have a portable warehouse in my yard) LOL LOL LOL . If I happen to win this, I will still be donating my prize to someone on the DP board. (The chips and jerky and gaming stuff, but not the trip and dinner! :D )

Danny

hey what kind of jerky is it?If its homemade I might just buy or trade for some :D

It is in small 2 ounces packages. The beef jerky is in small chunks (similar to Frito Lay's Oberto beef jerky)

Comes in 3 different flavors Teriyaki (my favorite), original or peppered.

The potato chips will be the winners choice of flavors: Plain, Ridged, Sour Cream, Cheddar n' Sour Cream, BBQ, Jalapeno, Shoestrings, etc.

Like I said before, if by some miraculous chance I win the $500 pot, Joe can draw another name for my donations. Who knows, maybe I will make a habit of doing this for contests? (At least I will try :) )

Oh...my...GOD!!! :o

Yes, I d feel a bit sheepish :embarrassed: not being online but I had to work last night.

There's no one here right now to pinch me, so as soon as I fully wake up and this sinks in (I didn't get to sleep until 7am) I'm sure I'm gonna scream!

Since this was only possible because of the generosity of everyone else, I'd like to extend a huge

THANK YOU!!!!!

to everyone!!!

Congratulations l-lamb! Man I thought I could enter by now, but 5 minutes later I found out you won. Should I be mad or happy? Anyways if you don't want that beef jerky, you can always PM me...Too bad I won't be going to CGE next year, it's during school year, but maybe, just maybe will I be able to go. Anyways once again good job on the win and have fun at CGE 2004!

Ummmm.... Wha?

This was from LAST YEAR.

The CGE 2004 contest/event hasn't even started yet. So breathe a sigh of relief and get yer jerky teeth ready. It's nearly SHOWTIME!

This year you should let an unlimited abmount of people enter. the more money, the more the winner will have to spend. Or at least 100 people.

Thanks, that was like 9 months ago though LOL . I've already paid for this year's trip since I'm bringing someone with. So you still have the same odds as everyone else!

PSHHHHH, WHAT? 100 entrants? That decreases my odd to something really REALLY low this year. Not as low as the lottery but 50 entrants is realistic. A better Idea might be to have people sign up in a thread....and each person gets signed up in a bracket of 50. You could then use a fishbowl to determine for each set or one huge jar for all of them. I'm sure you could get probably 150 entrants.....I'm not totally sure though, maybe that's wishful thinking. But that means we could send 3 people to CGE. We're about fun and not $$ right :D

I wouldn't care about the money as long as I got to go.....get the money elsewhere :P And if I don't win, I SENT SOMEBODY ELSE TO CGE....and that's pretty awesome too!

I'm certainly gonna enter this year! I already reserved the week following CGE as vacation time so I can go to San Jose and visit the area (especially if Steve's uncle and aunt are home during that week, as they live in the SF area).

150 entries and send 3 people! Do that one! Then just randomly choose 3 out of the 150! That is an awesome idea.
