It seems investors are unhappy that one of THQ (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/THQ/)'s most important relationships continues to be in flux. After the news that the company was extending its renewal notice with the WWE on October 28, its stock has lost 12 percent of its value, according to GameIndustry.biz (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/thq-stock-loses-12-percent-since-wwe-announcement). When compared to its worth on September 23, the company is down 26 percent.

THQ's convoluted relationship with JAKKS Pacific and the WWE is fully explained here (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/28/thq-announces-extension-of-wwe-renewal-notice-pachter-explains/), but it suffices to say that things are pretty messy right now, and it seems the stockholders are getting impatient for tidiness.http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/http://www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif (http://www.joystiq.com)THQ stock loses 12 percent after WWE extension (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/11/03/thq-stock-loses-12-percent-after-wwe-extension/) originally appeared on Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com) on Tue, 03 Nov 2009 18:00:00 EST. Good I think the SvR series has been stale this entire gen. Hopefully they can get the liscence to the guys that did No Mercy.

I would have agreed up until the latest Smackdown. 2010 is pretty damn good. They upped the speed of the game for the better, while still trying to retain some of the realism they want to display.

you know who put out no mercy? THQ

what you want is Aki, rather than Yukes to be working on a WWE wrestling game.

It can take years to get a new wrestling game engine off the ground (take TNA Impact for example, which had promise but was severly limited and bombed in retail).

If WWE gets some other company make their next game, it'll probably be very basic with limited options. And in this economy, I'm not sure if people would be willing to give it a chance.

And I've enjoyed THQ's most recent Smackdown vs. Raw games.
