i just watched a video on youtube on installing a 500 gb hdd in a ps3. Classic Game Room HD - 500 Gigabyte PS3 review (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFjlhmAosrU)

does the ps3 slim got the same type of hdd that the original ps3 got?

Yes. PS3s all use laptop sata drives.

I heard once that the max was 250gb. Im not sure if thats true though. Anyone know?

PS3 stock drives are 5400RPM, so if you want things to load the way they're developed to, that would be the recommended drive speed. Faster or slower may cause issues.

Not sure what the maximum size limitation is. PS3 uses a FAT32 formatting, so I would imagine whatever the maximum is on that (2TB?).

*edit* The largest size HDD I've found confirmation of running is 1TB (which allows for abour 820GB of free space after formatting to FAT32).

Cant be 250gb I have a 320 in mine right now but it is almost full. I would like to get a bigger one just dobt know how large a HDD i can put in.
