I have a version I and it only displays in Black and White now, my SNESII won't power on anymore and the best part is both are for no apparent reason! Anyone have any ideas for repair? Just my day today because my PC monitor is dying too!

For the SNES 2, you could check if the fuse or regulator are broken.

For your b&w SNES try this page. If nothing works or changing to a different type of connection does, then the problem is probably in the video output area. Perhaps a bad capacitor or solder joint.

Anyone have some info how to realign the RF shielding in the model I, I'm moderately handy and should be able to fix it so I don't have to buy a new one.

I really can't imagine how the shielding would get misaligned so badly that it would cause your problem, but to realign the shielding you wil first need to open the console. Before doing anything discharge any stored charge that may be present by flipping the power switch on. To open it you will need a 4.5mm gamebit which can be easily obtained online. If you do not have a gamebit and don't want to wait for one you can use a pack of BIC pens. If you use the pens get the clear six sided ones and melt the tip of the empty shell and place it over the screw until it hardens. Get a pack as each pen will only be good for one or two screws.
After removing the screws from the bottom of the console, flip it over and remove the top. You should see a nice shiny piece of metal surrounding the motherboard. This is the RF Shield. Remove the screws holding it together and lift it away. Handeling the motherboard by the edges, lift it up (there may be a few other screws to remove) and examine the bottom piece making sure that its only contact with the board is at the grounding points. Replace the top making sure the only contact with the board is at the grounding points. Go ahead and test it now, remembering to switch the power off before pluging it in.
If this doesn't fix it then you will have to look at the video output area.

I got everything working, the multi AV cable I was using was going into an automatic AV selector switch and it all went haywire, It took me forever to diagnose it yesterday but I finally realized that my switch and my cable were misbehaving and I got them all working.
Thanks anyways
