When i try to turn on my genesis, the only way to turn it on is to hold the power cord in at a certain angle. Anyway to fix this? I know how to solder so that isn't a problem for me if need be. Maybe somethings broken off but where would i get replacement ports at? Thanks

I think you might need to remove and re-solder the power port to the board.
I seem to recall someone having this same problem and that fixed things right up.

I'll try that asap. thanks.
EDIT: I took it apart to discover the solder had broken off. thanks. I picked this genny up for 3 bucks at a thrift store too!

I think over half of all the Genesis 2 units I've ever had have a power jack in some state of solder breakage. I've just gotten to resoldering them any time I've got the console open.
