NAVA = North Atlantic Videogame Aficionados. It's FREE, and YOU are invited to attend.
Previously at NAVA...
- A witch, some Tetris blocks, a few zombies, various videogame characters including a couple from Kingdom Hearts, and TWO Joe Santulli's made an appearance.
- Wii and Atari 2600 games were played side-by-side.
- Many games and systems traded hands between attendees.
- Pictures and video tell it best:
http://www.digitpress.com/images/store/
It's the store's four year anniversary! There's no theme in order for this event, just an old-fashioned NAVA. We'll have Rock Band set up since it's been awhile and there are a whole lotta new tracks to play, and we've got a store copy of DJ Hero for anyone who wants to give that a spin (get it?).
If anyone has a copy of Beatles Rock Band or Guitar Hero 5 for 360 that we can use for a few hours please bring it along.
Prepare for a day and night of gaming, trading, and kibbitzing. It's NAVA time!
When: November 28th, noon to midnight.
Where: Digital Press Videogames: http://tinyurl.com/yscakm
What happens: Gaming, trading, tournaments, big prizes! Attendance is FREE. Half price for kids!
What can I bring?: Snacks, soda and beer are always appreciated. Cakes have been very popular as well.

2600, INTV, NES and a smattering of random other system games. If you're looking for boxed pre-NES systems, we may be able to help you out. :)
Also, this is a maybe as it's a lot of stuff to lug and it's not cleaned yet (and probably won't be until Christmas time).

Does anyone have a copy of the original Silent Hill 1 for Playstation 1 they would be willing to trade or sell at the upcoming Nava? I have played every Silent Hill game that has been released EXCEPT for the one that started the whole series, and I can't find a copy anywhere. I REALLY want to know how it all started and would really appreciate it if someone were willing to trade or sell a copy of the original on the 28th. Thanks.

"A nice quiet NAVA"? I haven't seen one of those since I opened the store!
We miss you, but I certainly prefer my NAVAs very loud and and not at all "nice".

Is anyone looking for an older Apple computer? I have a bunch of different types I can supply. Very cheap. Make an offer and I am likely to accept. I'm running out of space, and I can't store these forever.
Computers just come with bare computer and power cable, no monitor unless it is built in. Official apple keyboard and mouse can be supplied for a bit extra, but they are used and not the best looking. The computers aren't in mint condition, but they still look good overall. The computers were taken care of, but show signs of normal use and have normal blemishes, dust, etc.. They are all tested and fully working.
Let me know if you are interested and I can bring whatever you want along for you to see.

Everyone bring their trade boxes, even the stuff that has been rotting away for months. I have Secret Santa shopping to do, so there is a lot of stuff I am looking to get.

Lis and I are moving to our new condo soon, and in the move (and the need for more space) I'll likely be pairing down a bit of classic gaming stuff that I have in hard storage, so for the first time in many a month I'll have a sale/trade box of potentially interesting things.

I might be showing up, I'll be able to find out later today. I'm working seasonal at Toys R Us right now, and next week is Black Friday, so I expect my schedule to be all sorts of insane. Either way, I'll post my schedule when I find out what it is.
I haven't been to a NAVA in a while. I miss you guys.

May bring some games with me to trade to (Virtua Tennis 3 for the 360, Parappa the Rappa for the PSX, among others.)

So I just snagged a Laseractive off of Ebay and it came with over 30 laserdiscs. They're good movies but since the DVDs are pretty much the better option all around I'm looking to unload them. I'll bring them with me if anybody is interested.

I'm planning to be there, with a whole bunch of stuff as I'm trying to clear the backlog and raise funds for other purchases. You can checkout my sale thread. I also have some stuff that isn't yet listed, so if you have wants let me know.
Also I obviously won't be bringing this due to the size, but I have a Black Knight pinball machine for sale. I'm about 30 minutes south of the store if anyone is interested. I'm asking $1400 for that and it works perfectly. Send me a PM if interested and I can send you photos or you can drop by to check it out.

Er, on second thought I'm not sure if I'll be bringing Beatles Rock Band. Apparently it's my great aunt's 75th birthday and they're having a party for her. I'll still be at NAVA but I'm not sure how long.

I know...it's not like that Pepsi Invaders game...those are everywhere 8-)
Anyways I think I'm only going to be at NAVA for a few hours so I'll leave it someone else to bring the game.

We decided we're going to haul the games we got in this big lot with us. If you're looking for common/uncommon 2600, NES and INTV games, you'll want to browse our tradebox. All the systems we got need to be cleaned, so it's unlikely we'll have those though (no matter how badly I want to get rid of them!).
We'll also have Steel Battallion and we got a replacement knob for our middle part so it's 100% complete and CIB again.

That said, if it lands on a random song I just know it's gonna be Birthday. That song kicks my ass :shameful:

I assume you've never been to a NAVA when Rock Band is set up.
When it comes to people singing at NAVA, there is no fear or shame to be found.

I'm looking to sell of all of my Neo Geo stuff. It includes a boxed Neo-geo, two controlers, KOF 96, 200, Samurai Shodown 1 and 2, Fatal Fury Special, Crossed Swords, and Art of Fighting 2.
I will entertain any offers but the only game I will almost certainly consider selling on its own is KOF 2000 (although if I'd prefer to keep the system if I'm unable to sell that) and I will only really travel down on Saturday if I can guarantee a sale.
PM me if interested!

Actually, it'd be a lot of fun if we could get two mics hooked up and sing harmonies. (I don't own any Rock Band stuff, otherwise I'd bring one.)

Not really great at singing harmonies, I'm much better with the leads.
Really hope somebody brings the game. Don't make me regret not bringing it down with me:embarrassed:

Rock Band ought to have a real-life concert-emulation mode, that supports crowd-sing-a-longs!
That way, you two could be the on-stage singers, but the entire store could sing together in unison to well-known songs!
And, with a nod to Nights on Christmas or Sonic Adventure on Halloween, the game should be date-aware, and launch Taxman in early April or Birthday before the owner's birthday, that sort of thing.
Endless possibilities.

We have a few 5200 controllers that we picked up recently. I need to test them. Should be able to though.
EDIT: We have 4 and they all have some flaw. All sticks work 'fine' (fine being the best a 5200 controller stick could work) but either the fire buttons or start button don't work (2 have working starts, 2 have working fire buttons). The keypads all work on all 4. I tested all 4 controllers on 2 different systems as well with the same result. Would like to trade these 4 for 2 refurbs so we can sell the system with 2 working controllers. Find me today.
And dur on me, we have Beatles Rock Band. We'll be bringing our copy.
