I'm asking this for a friend of mine without a board ID...
Basically he picked up Wonder Boy in Monster Land for the SMS. Since he's only got a power base convertor he tried playing it in that. According to him what happens is the game boots up but then Wonder Boy starts shaking around and thus he can't play the game. So I'm wondering-is this game just outright incompatible or is there some combination of controllers or something thats keeping it from running? He's using a power base on the CDX, by the way.

He needs a regular SMS controller pad instead of using the Genesis one for playing Wonderboy in Monsterland. The extra information from the third button is causing it to act up like that.

Yep, I had the same problem when I first got my Powerbase converter. A regular SMS pad will take care of the problem.

you can also mod a Genesis controller, just cut or install an on/off switch to the "pin 7" wire.
