Nyko is a great brand, but that thing looks utterly ridiculous.

kotaku listed it a while ago at something like $20.

Will this allow me to zoom in on the cars plates across the street and make the letters clearly legible ala "CSI"?

More than a bit pointless for a 1.1 megapixel camera.

EDIT: Ah, wait, it's 3 megapixels. Not quite so ridiculous then.

I love the way that it still looks so discrete.

It's like... yeah, it's a camera, but you can't really tell. You could take all kinds of secret pictures of people and they wouldn't even know!

You could tell people it's the lightsaber attachment.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the cameras on the DSi are 0.3 megapixels. As in, 640x480.

It's both ridiculous and a knockoff of another company's product.

dao2 is correct that it's dirt cheap though, the wholesale cost is less than half the MSRP.

This review (http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/dsi/2009/03/17/nintendo-dsi-review/2) claims they're both 0.3 megapixel. I have no experience with the DSi myself, so I have no idea. Seems pathetically low to me... like, what companies would even make such low resolution CCD's these days?

I'll disagree with the first part of this statement but agree with everything after the comma. :wink 2:

If yoiu are just going to a party then anything will do the trick. In the Early 90's my mom would put disposable 35mm cameras around and as people to take candid shots then leave them behind. It sorth of worked. Lots of legs, and face closeups ... supprisingly no one took on rhe bathroom.

It's a game machine. No need to man it up

No, Nyko is definitely one of the better 3rd-party accessory companies. Their 3rd-party Wii remote is better than the official one according to reviews from places like IGN.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. I've been in gaming retail for over a decade and while I'll never claim to be any kind of expert, I've had plenty of experience with Nyko products and said experiences ranged from average at best to not very favorable. IGN may think they're Wii controllers are the best thing since sliced bread but I've had their products in-hand and I've found the production values to be lacking.

Just to make sure I had my T's crossed and I's dotted though, I ventured over to Nyko's website. It didn't take me very long to find the one thing that was the bane of my Xb360 sales, the dreaded Intercooler. If I had a nickel for every time I had to explain to a customer on why not to buy one of those things, I'd own my own Gamestop store. :drinking:

Regardless of what places like IGN say (a site I never venture to anyway), I'll continue to go with 1st party accessories or those from highly reputable companies like Logitech who have from the start made sure their products were officially licensed (something else I just remember never seeing on any Nyko product packaging, official endorsements from MS/Sony/Nintendo).

Don't take this as a slight Beta, you don't have a problem with their products and that's perfectly fine. My experiences haven't been as great. However, if it makes you feel any better, if someone had a gun to my head and told me to either buy a Nyko or Mad Catz PS2 controller, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Nyko one. ROFL

the dsi wikipedia entry says that they're both 0.3I saw that too, but there's got to be a more reliable source than Wikipedia.

If you look closely at the history page for the dsi wikipedia entry it says "Last edited by Kupomogli". LOL

I say they are both 0.3 megapixels. Of course, I've never seen a DSi in person, and am currently on a wicked heroin bender...so I might not be more reliable than wikipedia right now. But I can now smell yellow.

I'll bet it's light and goes well with the blue you just heard.

Finally, an accessory to help pedophiles stay more inconspicuous at local parks. He's not there to check out your child, he's just playing a game of Phantom Hourglass....with the occasional Picto Chat to pass the time.
