Well, the game itself is actually Bare Knuckle III (J), with the region lockout removed. I am unsure if the game itself is actually different from the finished version. I have dumped the rom but can't seem to get Goodgen to work correctly and attempt to rename it.
Got the cart from a guy about 6 years ago, being billed as a "beta". I assumed this was correct, from the look of the cart itself and the fact it had no region protection. However....
Closer inspection has me confused. There is no sticker (or sticker residue) on the cart. Cart shell is Genesis style, along with a Mega Drive notch missing on the left, giving it a dead giveaway of being a pirate. Also, the text on the back is exactly the same as a couple other pirate carts I have, only the caution is missing an n (!).
PCB doesn't have chips but globtops, which goes along with the pirate notion.
However, look at the sticker on the inside of the cart shell?!?
