I'm writing an article on the unreleased SNES game, Tinhead, and I was wondering if someone has a scan of the Genesis cart that I could use for the article. Also, I am aware that there were two releases of Tinhead on the Genesis, one was by Spectrum Holobyte, but I am not sure of the other one. Any info on this game would be wonderful.
A word of warning, playing this game may induce enough rage that you may throw your controller against the wall!

I haven't played Tinhead in years but that was a great game, even beat it once. I never knew that there was an SNES version in the works, were there any huge differences besides possibly graphics and sound?

Well, unless the Genesis emulator I have is screwy, the sound is much better in SNES version. Also each of the shot types are mapped to their own buttons, so you don't have to press a button to switch between them. Otherwise, it should be identical.

My box says Ballistic (which is Accolade). On the cartridge itself it says, "Published by Accolade under license from Spectrum Holobyte." Unlike most Ballistic releases, it's in a plastic clamshell box.
Fun fact: This game was developed by Microprose UK, but was never released in the UK.

Mine also says Ballistic/Accolade, under license from Spectrum Holobyte.

Yeah, unfortunately the SNES prototype ROM image is PAL, so it runs about 20% too fast on an NTSC SNES.

That's weird that the SNES proto is PAL, and there was no PAL release of the version that actually came out. Especially considering SNES was less popular there.

From what I read, the game was designed for PAL systems, and was to be converted to NTSC afterwards. I have no idea why the Genesis version came out in the US and not Europe, but it makes sense that the SNES prototype is PAL.

Wasn't there an Amiga version in the works, too? Or did that version come out. It's definitely one of the best "European" style platformers I've ever played, so it's funny it never came out there.

According to the game producer, the Amiga version was in development, but never got to a state of completion the way the Genesis and SNES versions were.

I remember that Club Nintendo Extra (Dutch Nintendo magazine from the 90s) had some sort of review for the SNES game.

I just picked a copy of this game, pretty interested to try it.
Did you ever get a picture of the Genesis cart? If not, I could do that for you.
