Get out waves from manuals/inserts?

I have a copy of the Terminator for the Sega CD and Battle Corps, both are somewhat wavy on the back insert, more so terminator then battle corps. Its not wrinkled or creased, looks like water may have go into it and sat in there till it dried. Is there any way I can get it out? I thought about using an iron, but I don't want to possibly ruin the terminator. Would it be better to just not do anything then ruin it? I thought about selling the terminator but I dont see how someone would buy it with the waves on the back.

Do this:

Add a (very) little bit of water:

Use a clamp to "iron" the cardboard/paper and let the water dry for some hours:

Why this works? Let's remember that paper and cardboard are just celulose threads knitted together like fabric. The water relaxes the threads and help them to straighten.

Of course, try it first on another manual or piece of paper first.

Worked like a charm. looks brand spankin new. thanks a lot. I never would have thought about applying water with a paint brush.

i had a bigger piece of paper that I couldn't clamp to the table. So I put it in the thickest book I can find and actually sat on it till it dried, I know it sounds weird but it worked perfectly.

I know you can iron paper money but that's because it's actually cloth based. I don't think I'd try it on a manual. It "might" work, but I'd try a test manual first.

For the clamp method above, it looks like a really good solution but something tells me that it might be a good idea to put waxpaper or something on either side of it just in case it would bond or stick to the board. That way it wouldn't accendentally rip when you take it off. I havn't tried it though so I can't say either way.
