View Full Version : What was that "good" CDi game?

I am frustrated at the failure of my search-fu today.

A while ago someone linked to a video of a halfway decent-looking 2D platformer for the CDi featuring a wizard. All I can remember is that the Game Over screen had some wacky easter eggs, including some nudity. Does this ring any bells?

I believe it is indeed The Apprentice.

Does one of the characters on the cover look like the wizard in question?

Well, to be fair, Link: The Faces of Evil and Zelda: Wand of Gamelon feature wizards.

Oh, I'm sorry, you said good CD-i games. My bad.

As a note, there was another wizard game for CD-i called Merlin's Apprentice, though I have no idea how good it is, if at all. Since it's CD-i, I'd guess it's awful.

I'd forgotten all about that one. I never did get around to trying it, but I'd very much like to, as it is one of the legendary Cliff Johnson's (http://www.fools-errand.com/) puzzle games, and freely available for the PC.

Burn Cycle was critically acclaimed in the day, but no wizards there

Huh - didn't know Cliff Johnson was from Hanover, NH (I checked out that site - quite interesting)

Will have to try his games in their native format when I get my LC 520 up and running. :D
