I was wondering what are some great Super Famicom games in general? I won a converter and now I need to buy some.

I don't know Japanese. So anything that you can pick up and play without having to know it.

What exactly do you mean by "adventure" ? Generally that refers to stuff along the lines of Monkey Island and Broken Sword and such forth.

If that's what you're looking for, Famicom Detective Club springs to mind. There's even a translation patch for one of them.

Radical Dreamers is sort of an adventure game, I think.
And Wonder Project J. Haven't really played much of either.

Clock Tower is a pretty awesome adventure game. Aeon Genesis did an English translation of it!

It doesn't have to be adventure, I mean like a mario, zelda, Dk etc type games. Just any good SFC games in general? I won a converter for $20 and figured i'd take some opinions.

Well action type games, Where you go threw different worlds and stages.

Perhaps you should edit your subject line rather than adding another post of misspellings in bold text. :hmmm:

Also, you should probably mention whether you have any knowledge of Japanese, since that tends to be important when playing many SFC games.

The first things that come to mind at the moment are Umihara Kawase and Chō Genjin 2 (Super Bonk 2).

I really don't need you to tell me about misspellings. Thanks though!

I will mention the ones that I own first (that were only released in Japan).

I second Umihara Kawase. Great game and very different then what you will normally find on the SFC. Not the most expensive title, but not one of the cheaper ones either.

Gambare Goemon series: I believe only the first game in the series was released in the west (Name: The Legend of the Mystical Ninja). Then at least 3 others games in the series were released in Japan. If you like weird, very Japanese, Adventure/Platforming, then you will enjoy these for sure.
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEjbHIgibNk&feature=related
Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-Ddu8tZaBU&feature=related
I don't own this one, but it is obviously similar to the rest of the series.
Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mC2igxkwcw4&feature=related

Ganbare! Daiku no Gensan: This is actually a Hammerin' Harry game. I didn't like it as much as the Arcade game, but it was fun in it's own way. On a side note, I enjoyed the Gameboy Hammerin' Harry too :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_Zx9RgD5-A

Go Go Ackmann series: There are 3 games in total. Fun little series. Akira Toriyama of Dragon Ball fame (Also, did the character design for the Dragon Quest series and Chrono Trigger). Pretty easy to find and not too expensive.
Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJGCs-SSBH8&feature=related
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUaEDpXpmbo
Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5Kx1hVghVc&feature=related

Jungle no Ouja Tarzan: This one is weird, but I enjoy it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MA4u73WZyKE

Kishin Douji Zenki: Battle Raiden: I like this game. Platforming with beat-em-up bit thrown in.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unh_DXpZYF8

Syonen Ashibe: AKA: Syo the Seal: It is a kiddie game, but I think it's pretty good. You can pick it up cheap too
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNBx-rPNuUc

Mickey & Donald: Magical Adventure 3: The third game in the Magical Quest series. Only released in Japan. However, it was later released on the GBA in the west.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQxQCBE7Ovw

Magical Taruruuto Kun: Another cute. easy platform game. Fun for as long as it lasts. Plus, you can find it cheap.

"Adventure" is a tricky word, as I have learned. In Euroland, it means graphic adventure games like Shadow Gate or De ja vu on the NES, or point and click PC style games. So, just not to confuse some people - just use "action adventure" if you mean games like Zelda or SMW and "graphic adventure" if you mean the other sort. Action adventure, also not to be confused with action RPG ;) Ys III is an action RPG, Crystalis is an action RPG, etc.

I've been playing Holy Umbrella the past few days. It is worth checking out if you like a platformer with some RPG elements, especially since the fan translation just came out. Of course, if you hate anime-style humor, you probably best stay away.

I really only have one SFC exclusive as I tend to buy SFC carts because they're cheaper than the northamerican versions.

twinbee rainbow bell adventures is a good game, even though it looks like it was made for an 8 year old girl =(

Hate to be a broken record, but risingstuff.com is great for buying imports. Especially now since they're having a storewide sale.

Pop N Twinbee
This is one I hope to one day get ahold of (have it on Twinbee Portable, can't play it too well on the PSP), colorful game, beautiful graphics for it's time, and an excellent soundtrack, plus it's fun to boot. Great romp in the Twinbee series, shame this never came out in the US like a majority of Twinbee games didn't.

Cosmo Gang the Video
Puzzle Bobble
Rockman and Forte

These are the 3 SFC carts I own and enjoy having them around, a Mega Man game, a quirky shooter parodying Galaga, and Bub and Bob's first jump into puzzlers, can't go wrong owning them.

Some other games that I enjoy a lot for SFC:

Ghost Chaser Densei: My favourite scrolling beat-em-up on the SNES/SFC (As the original Final Fight was botched on SNES. Okay part 3 is quite good IMO). Very fun scrolling beat-em-up with lots of moves to discover. It can get a little "samey" which is typical for the genre. However, it has tons of moves per character and in two player mode, you can do tag-team style moves against the computer. It is a bit rare so you may pay a little more for it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0EDpnKdrLk

Iron Commando: Another scrolling beat-em-up exclusive to the SFC. Not bad. Mixes the stages up from walking along beating guys up (Lots of weapons to pick up including guns) and stages where you ride motorcycles and such.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FJeHCA3UP0

If you can find it for a good price (it tends to go for a bit more then your average SFC game). Undercover Cops: Good and faithful port of the Arcade game by Irem. Hopefully one day, I'll have it in my collection too :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnGiSvd_Cj4

Check out the SD Great Battle series. Tons of variety in each game. Some are more beat-em-up style while others go towards the Contra route. I enjoy this series and picked them up cheap.

Sorry, I can't really say where to find all the games I listed online :(
I was lucky that I lived in Japan for a few years and make regular visits back. So I tend to pick up stuff that way. I have no experience buying stuff online. I can only comment and maybe highlight some of the games I feel are exclusive and worth checking out.

Here's an excellent place to start out, it's written by Steven on the boards, and he really knows his stuff.

Look especially under the "Obscure SFC" series of articles, as an excellent added bonus, he does an excellent job of replicating the feel of reading a gaming magazine back in the Golden Age of 16 Bit.

The nice thing about RS.com is you can join the forums and post in the "request" thread what you're looking for.

This is the game you're looking for?: Gekisou Sentai CarRanger (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/571476.html)

The SFC port of Sengoku is awful compared to the Neo Geo original. If you're interested in playing it, picking up SNK Classics Vol. 1 for PS2/Wii would be a much better option, and probably cheaper, too.
