I have a bunch of stuff I want to put on Ebay, but I have withheld from doing so for several years.

Overall, its some things like complete Metal Gear for Gameboy, Complete Metroid 2 for Gameboy, Black Labels Final Fantasy VII, sealed Black label Final Fantasy XIII & IX. Last Blade 2, Bangai O and some other dreamcast games. A Sega CDX.

Anyway, I always wanted to know what the best time of year was to sell games. I would think it would either be around this time of year, January, or summertime.

What's the general consensus here?

Yeah, It's just that I've literally waited so long to sell all this stuff. I had it all in the US when I was living abroad for years. Then I got back and the economy crashed so I figured it would be a horrible time to sell.

As you can see from my list, there is some desirable stuff, but it isn't the type of rare item that is going to sell well at any time.

Basically, I am not in any particular rush to sell, but I would like to do so relatively soon. The main key would to get the most monies :)

I'd actually think a time like now would be the best, that way you can get all the people looking to do some Christmas shopping on there, you know?

Right now would be the best time, for the Christmas Season.

The past year has sucked for almost all games! The economy slowing has really hurt sales of the older stuff!

I agree, starting now would be a great time, and it carries past Christmas until around mid-January, thanks to people using up their gift cards.

Even then, the prices are down in general as mentioned in the post above...

You should probably sell that FFVII sooner rather than later, but I think you already missed the height of it. Prices really shot up after Advent Children, but it's been creeping back down, especially now that it got a PSN release. Now the large of number of buyers that simply want to play the game, short of illegally downloading it, have a much cheaper, easier option to turn to.

You should hop into a time machine and sell all your stuff like 5 years ago. I haven't sold much of anything on Ebay in a very long time. Last time I was selling SNES games, a loose cart of Link to the Past sold for like $19 easy. Now, you're lucky to get like $8 for it. Seems like the value of my entire collection is about 45 percent of what it once was.

I'm thinking that I should just hold onto everything until the economy truly rebounds.

The good news is that now is a great time to buy certain games that you just couldn't afford a number of years ago because they were just too pricey.
