What great finds did you score this holiday/weekend?
My shopping started with Amazon. I got Magna Cart 2 (360) marked down to $32 from $60. As well as two cheapo Blu-Rays for my husband. Monster Squad ($11) & I Robot ($11?).
From the RosenQueen sale I got two plush Prinnies I've been eyeing forever at $20.
Black Friday we went to Best buy and got Resident Evil 5 ($20) [Weeee! No more split screen!] and some blu-rays Dark City and Drag me to Hell ($15) [AWESOME MOVIE! And as a bonus it turned out to be a loose remake/homage to an old 50's psychological horror I loved as a kid (Curse of the Demon)]
Finally last night we hit up Gamestop's Buy Two get One sale. I scored Disgaea 3 PS3 ($35) Fatal Frame III PS2 ($30) and got Champions: Return to Arms PS2 ($30) for free. As well as, No More Heroes Wii ($18), Mad World Wii ($18) and got Valkyrie Chonicles PS3 ($18) for free.
The best part however, was as I was leaving I glanced down at the under $5 PS2 bargin bin and spotted Xenosaga III. I knew it had to be a mistake as you can't find it used online for less than $30. Sure enough it was covered in Xenosaga II stickers. A minor debate with the cashier later and I walked out for Xenosaga III for $4 and some change.
All in all I feel I got some great savings, and surprisingly encountered absolutely no Black Friday craziness. It was much worse going to Publix the day before Thanksgiving for cake and cranberries.

Nice finds. The only things I really got were from GS B2G1F sale (which I've posted about in the Nov 2009 finds thread).
Can you define "minor debate?" Was the Xenosaga III case stickered with the wrong labels or was it priced/labeled correctly and just in the wrong bin? When I worked there, I would honor mislabeled games so long as the stickers were consistent on the front and back (and sometimes on the spine but I made it a point not to sticker the spines ;)). If the stickers look tampered with I wouldn't and advise the customer as such. If a case for a higher ticket item ended up in the dump bin, I would definitely not honor changing the price and advise the customer that a kid got lazy and put it in there by mistake. I don't recall any instances where the latter took place but it was all too common to have to sell a game for a lower price because one of the part timers labeled it wrong.

I did most of my shopping online on the Thursday night before Black Friday and this is what i got:
Moon (Nintendo DS) $6 plus $2 shipping (Gamer's Quest Direct)
Rock Band Unplugged $7 plus $2 shipping (Target)
My Sims Kingdom $10 (Best Buy)
Jake Hunter (Nintendo DS) $4.90 (GoGamer)
Docomodake BOING! (Nintendo DS) $6.90 (GoGamer)
Crisis Core (PSP) $10 (Gamestop)
They're all brand new and sealed. The only one that wasn't so hot of a deal was My Sims Kingdom for $10 but i wanted to play it so i grabbed it. All of this was online.
So basically a little over $50 for all these games, pretty great to me.

Nothing... nobody buys anything on eBay during this weekend. I can cover my bills, but that's about it. T_T

I had a rather unexpected find on Friday. My wife and I were visiting her family, and didn't bother getting up early to raid any stores. We did, however, visit a local used game shop later that afternoon. After walking around for a while and not seeing anything noteworthy, I spotted some boxes underneath one of the display tables. (The good stories always seem to start with boxes underneath tables.)
The box in the front had a bunch of Genesis boxes - mostly sports games. But now that I had the scent, I kept looking further back. Behind that box were two more boxes stuffed with Intellivision games. I immediately knew I had a hell of a find here.

It was just "junk" they wanted to get rid of, and asked me to make an offer. Multiple games in the 6-7 rarity range, all with boxes and manuals, and many with controller overlays. I got the whole load for $60. Needless to say I'm not too bummed about missing any sales at Best Buy!
Oh, and there were also a few Mattel, Imagic, and Activision catalogs that aren't pictured.
bf deals i ordered madworld and sid miers pirates off of newegg, decent prices.

I took the plunge on the Xbox 360.
Got the Modern Warfare 2 Elite bundle at Target and they gave me a 50 dollar gift certificate, so that was sweet.
At Gamestop, I took advantage of the B2G1 deal and scored Gears of War 2 (complete with a book and some other bonus material), Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3. Got those 3 games for 59.99.

This black Friday had deals that sucked compared to last years. It was mainly only newer games that had reduced prices but older games that have been out awhile haven't had anything reduced aside for a small few that I already own.
The only thing I was interested in was the Disgaea 2 PSP bundle for 29.99. Buying it I could have got the Laharl Prinny plushie and a bunch of extras then either keep or sell off Disgaea 2, but I decided not to waste my time.
I did get Dark Knight and Batman Begins for Bluray though since I don't yet own those versions. $11 for Dark Knight and $12 for Begins collector box that came out when Dark Knight was showing in theaters.

Resident Evil 5 (360) - $20 (completes my CE again)
Madworld (Wii) - $10
Rhythm Heaven (DS) - $10
Left 4 Dead 2 (360) - $35
Mercenaries 2 (360) - $10
Gran Turismo (PSP) - $20
Guitar Hero Smash Hits (360) - $20
All from Best Buy. All the deals except RE and L4D2 were unadvertised in-store specials.
The only deal I wanted but couldn't get was Need for Speed Nitro (Wii) for $20 at GameStop. All in all not too bad I think.

After works, went to Blockbuster due to them going out of bussiness in PR (as stated in another thread). I picked up for $12 each:
Little Big Planet
Spiderman: Web of Shadows
Resistance: Fall of Man
Resistance 2
Animal Crossing City Folk
All were complete and in great condition. Resistance had a few minor scratches and so did Animal Crossing, but overall, in great condition.
During the week I picked up a plethora of games through Amazon, though.
Black Friday wasn't all that spectacular, unfortunately.

Gamestop was my main weakness with the buy 2 get 1
It started with me finding a Zelda DS Lite in mint condition on Friday for $59.99 that I got with store credit, then I went nuts on the buy 2 get 1 sale on DS games.
All games were complete in box, as I was picky and didn't want cart only games:
Zelda Phantom Hourglass
Advance Wars Dual STrike
Blue Dragon Plus
Contra
Dark Spire
Lunar Dragon Song
Nanostray
Nanostray 2
Touch Detective 2-1/2
Contact
Dragon Quest V
Final Fantasy III
Final Fantasy Tactics A2
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
Castlevania Order of Ecclesia
Mario Kart DS
New Super Mario Bros
Mario & Luigi Partners in Time
Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story
Then got Fire Emblem for $9.99 at Blockbuster
Movie Trading company had a 50% off coupon in the paper and got
A boy and his Blob for the wii for $16.50
Tetris DS for $12.50
So I spent way too much about $250 or so, but I got alot of stuff to keep me busy.

That's some haul, jeff. I wish my experience was fruitful. The GS I've been to had pretty dismal DS and Wii selection. It's been a kick in the balls to find anything complete, found Tales of Symphonia (Wii) with case and no manual at TWO locations. To top it off, half the stuff I bought had stickers on the inserts themselves conveniently overlaid by more stickers, looks like I'm returning stuff tomorrow.
Though the bright side is laying my hands on an object of interest, Phantom Brave We Meet Again (Wii) with completely different cover art and matching manual. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I actually had a pretty good Black Friday but nothing major game-wise. My girlfriend got me a shit load of Blu-rays (I think like 9 or 10) but I dont get them until Christmas lol. We got a Christmas tree for $50 (originally $150), some small things in Kohls, I bought Wizard of Oz Blu-Ray (3 disc Emerald Edition) for $12 and I actually snagged the free copy of Lego Rock Band from Old Navy (I actually got both a 360 version AND a PS3 version but I sold off the PS3 one :) ).

It was stickered incorrectly. Whether an associate did it or it was done by someone planning on scamming the register I don't know. I do know however when I worked at Gamestop like a billion years ago that we had to honor mismarked merchandise, but I didn't play the corperate know-it-all card at the counter. I just handed him the game, and when he tried to hand me a copy of 2, I pointed out that the box was for Xenosaga 3. He apologized, grabbed the correct disk and then scanned the disk sleeve and not the box. So of course it came up at Xenosaga 3. He quoted me the $20-something total and then I pointed out the game was priced at $3.99. At which point he called over the manager and after being mildly lectured that something like this could never happen again I got the game at the discounted price.
I wasn't a bitch, and the cashier was actually extremely nice about the whole thing.
I think I did pretty well this year, despite having to work during that awful morning, I think was able to get a few good scores afterward.
All games PS3:
NBA 2k10 - $25
Dragon Age Origins: $35
Fallout 3 GOTY: $10
Call of Juarez: $10
Shaun White Snowboarding: $7
Drag Me To Hell (blu-ray): $14
Rescue Me Season 5 Part 1: $14
Philips 4gig MP3 player: $29
I usually end up spending more on DVDs alone, but the selections this year weren't anything special. My only gripe was I wasn't able to get Godfateher II for $10 (since my store didn't seem to get the PS3 version), or the office chair that I wanted, but I guess there's always next year.

I assumed in my head that it went down as you described it. ;)
I didn't mean to insinuate anything by the way, so no offense intended. ^^;
Something like that is usually never worth the manager's time and trouble. They can fix it on the back end so their inventory is square. The store takes a hit but it's not that huge where it'll make or break the store. If it's something that helps put the store on impact, then the store had greater problems before your transaction. :wink 2:

Sold a ton of long guns and assault rifle/ar-15's to the general public (gives you that nice safe feeling right?) I did end up getting a decent deal on an Under Armour Hooded zip up. Regularly 54.99, I got the $10 off plus an additional 15% for employee appericiation, sweet deal.

Took advantage of ad comparison and was able to score it at Wal-Mart.

I avoided the Black Friday stuff. I had to hit every thrift store in the county to find pieces for my costume for the play "A Christmas Carol" I'm acting in. Only thing game related I picked up was Parasite Eve (case, all discs, no instructions) and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (N64, loose) for $2 each.
I did partake of a sale on the Playstation Network and bought Flower for $5. Awesome game. Very, very zen and even at points emotionally moving.

I stood in line for a couple hours at Best Buy to get a laptop for my parents for Christmas. Unfortunately they only had the bundles left so I had to spend $100 more and get a printer/scanner/copier that nobody wants...
BUT! I checked bestbuy.com throughout the day to see if anyone returned the laptop I was after and sure enough, around 9 that night, there was one in stock about 40 minutes south of me. I picked it up Saturday and that's one gift down.
I also grabbed a GPS for my brother. That's two gifts down! That leaves my grandparents and uncle and then I'll be done.

I bought the following:
NHL 10 (360) $34.99
Forza 3 (360) $34.99
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood (360) $19.99
H A W X (360) $19.99
Top Spin 3 (360) $10.00
Tiger Woods '08 (PS3) $10.00
Pikmin - New Play Control (Wii) $14.99
Bought all of those at a Wal-Mart about 30 minutes from my house. I waited for the rush to die down before I went out. Top Spin 3 & Tiger '08 were already on sale for $10 and I used the Black Friday ads to price match for the rest.

Waited outside a new small Best Buy for an hour an a half and got a netbook for my Fiance, 10$ (normally 30) headphones because mine broke, and Left 4 Dead 2 for 34$ door buster deal...
An hour later at Target I got a door buster deal 500gb external USB powered Western Digital Travel drive for 50$. Last one on the shelf.
It was nice, except my tablet's monitor cable decided to crap out on me while I was waiting outside best buy in the 32 degree (F) weather...

Yes. This game is not discussed nearly enough, very beautiful and quite possibly the best presentation ever of gaming as art. Definite download game of the year imo.
