Had my region switch on japanese without realizing it and popped in streets of rage. Sure enough this made the game come up as " Bare Knuckle " completely in japanese!

Are there any other genesis games like this? It would be great if some censored games like last battle could be played in their original form this way.

Genesis "Flicky" is one of them...in Jap mode, the names of the characters are different at the main screen...

Found another one. FINAL ZONE gives you a different title screen when set to japanese. It shows up as AXIS FZONE.

Should we compile a list or something or does anyone already have one online?

One of the games that gets a major title/gameplay (characters) change is the Sega 32X game "Cosmic Carnage".....Yes, if you plug a 32X system w/ Cosmic Carnage on top, with a Jap mode Genesis, you'll get "Cyber Brawl"....Quite amusing I most say...

I think a list exists somewhere already.

Ghouls N Ghosts is another one.

I'm pretty sure Sonic 3D Blast did this. if you plugged it into a PAL console it would show the European title screen.

I was going to say that.. columns has the same title screen but it plays in full japanese.
one day I might get bored and try a bunch of games, I've got a decent number here.

The most drastic change (that I've ever seen) was with "Mystic Defender". Palette changes, the main character has a different costume, and the levels have names (in Japanese). Really made me wanna see what other games out there might have stuff hidden in them.

Forgotten Worlds also has Japanese text when switched into Japanese mode.

Many of the Toaplan shooters ports should be like this. I believe Fire Shark becomes Zame! Zame! Zame! and I think that Grind Stormer actually becomes V-Five via an in-menu option system.
