Hello all,

I recently bought my first Sega Saturn and i've heard that the Saturn is one of the best consoles to collect imports for... My question is, is it possible to play imports on a NA saturn with a standard gameshark cartridge basically this (http://www.gamesquad.biz/catalog/gamesharkCARTface.jpg). So far, every google search I come across talks about playing imports using an Action replay 4 in 1 or a ST-key.... Cant I just do it with a gameshark?

thanks!

EDIT!!!!!

Er..I was on the wrong row - You hold X Y + Z when you go to press start on the GS screen.

So long as it isn't a a RAM Cart game, I'm almost positive with that version GameSHark, you had to Hold X Y + Z on the Saturn pad while you pressed "Start Game Without Codes" and it would boot the import.

Are there any ram cart games I'll be missing out on that are actually worth getting into?

How can I play these? Does the aciton replay 4in1 allow me to?

King of Fighters 95 and (I believe) Ultraman had ROM carts - they will only work with their included cartridge. You would need to either use a modded Saturn or do a Hot Swap with an ST Key.

If you have the 4 in 1, it'll play all the other RAM cart games as listed already.

Almost forgot, early 4 in 1s would not play Vampire Savior correctly...they needed s single wire soldering job to work properly.

Here is a good link listing games which required (or could use) the extra ram:

Hope that helps.

Nothing that isn't already on MAME.

Ultraman. Ohboy! (It's a ROM cart actually.)

In any case, if I had to get a single cart I'd get one of those Action Replay 4M+ carts. Cheap, max RAM you'll need, and also an action replay. Pretty nice, if you don't emulate like I do that is.
