yup, I had the exact same experience. Went to a guy's house, tested the Sega CD, handed over the money, put the SCD in the passenger seat, got home and the SCD is dead. :(

Lmao...I dunno if this was meant to be funny or serious but it made me laugh my ass off.

Anyhow...I have a model 1 complete in box that was shipped to me and got here just fine. Works just fine. I'm sure when I move in April it will still be just fine. Just don't take it off roading I guess? I dunno how rough of a ride you're venturing on....

I shipped one well padded in the mail. Was still broken by them. Only time I've ever had anything broken by the USPS.

No, I was serious. I wasn't speeding either. I went to the guy's house on a sunday very early so there was no traffic or anything. I really don't know what happened. It's not the fuse, it simply died, as if parting ways with his previous owner was a dead sentence or something.

Since then I've been sticking to Sega CD 2 units. That SCD it's still in my "trophies" shelf.
