would a wii usb rock band mic work on my ps3 to use with modern warfare?

It might, but I don't why you'd want to try to use a mic like that to play anything other than RockBand/some other singing game.
Mics to use in non-singing related games have an ear piece so you can hear whats being said, so it doesn't get funneled out through the tv speakers. A RB mic would be pretty damn impossible to use, as you'd need a hand to hold it to let you talk into it, all while you're trying to shoot the bad guys in the face at the same time.
