Hi guys, can anyone tell me where i can buy a used sega genesis system online for a decent price.. I just want one that is guaranteed to work. I would use ebay but i am done with them, to many stupid fees and policies.

You could try Amazon, or even on here once you get enough posts. There's a buying and selling forum available when you post ten, and there's most likely someone selling a Genesis.

Look in your local thrifts or game stores that stock older consoles. Genesis consoles are a dime a dozen in most cities, and you won't have to pay for shipping.

Umm....E-bay fees only apply to sellers. Still, a used video game store sounds like your best bet.

Just fyi, it is 10 days, not 10 posts.

I second looking at local thrifts. I see them all the time. $5 for a bare console, 10 or 15 w/ hookups and a controller seem to be typical prices here, and they don't fly off the shelves, either.

It used to be this way a few years ago, but I don't see too many Genesis units in thrifts anymore in my neck of the woods. Even when I do come across an overpriced bundle, it's never there the following week or so when I revisit, so Genesis nostalgia must be kicking in finally. Either that, or resellers are practically scraping thrift stores clean of anything to put up on eBay. Bastards.

Check your local Craigslist listings. I see them often for roughly 20 bucks or so usually with a bunch of games.

Ah nice, i was looking all over for a good deal on a system with a guarantee. I was just going to get the retrogen system but decided I would rather just go with original sega hardware.

Dunno if you've played Sega Genesis much already or not, but you are gonna dig that console. Do you already know what the good games to get are?

Ya, I would have to agree that it's a great console. I have great memories of playing the hell out of sonic the hedgehog. I still have a bunch of great games but my genesis has a loose connection were the power cord plugs in to the console. It was time to get a new one.
