Yep...it's basically a plug in memory card for the Duo. However, it's hard to use due to the heavy japanese menus. Works tho! :)

so can you use it to save your progress in games and stuff?

Yes, on games that can save. It's basically a bigger memory than the one on the Duo. Very handy if you save a lot of games and can use it. I THINK it works with US games too if you can navigate the menus. As you may know, the US Duo and CD-ROM2 have TINY memory slots. In fact, one game of Vasteel is about all my Duo will hold! *sob*
