I have had PMs over the years asking if I'd sell this, and now I am looking to see if an offer I don't refuse arises. I don't really wish to sell, but some extra cash for Christmas gifts for my kids would be pleasant.

I am looking for offers for those who seek this, and I don't wish to sell but anything is for sale for the right price.
Of note, I will require delivery conformation AND insurance on this. I prefer paypal + 2% (for fees)

I'm not in a huge rush to sell, but preferably with in the next week or about 10 days or if an offer I can't refuse arises straight away…

I don't really want to sell, but I've been told there is some value to this, and I'll get a Euro copy to play later on after the holiday when it permits. I hate to part with games from my collection, but my daughters are interested in some things for Christmas and the extra fast money would make it easier… Its been a rough year working in my industry (US automotive manufacturing).

Where do you happen to work at in Detroit, btw? I have a friend who works as a line supervisor in a Nissan factory in Detroit.

I work in Plymouth at a Chrysler facillity as a material coordinator.
Our products are the ND Dodge Dakota (which is to be phased out in July 2011) and the JK Jeep Wrangler.

For the topic, I will have a start price at $144 shipped USPS priority with delivery conformation and insurance.

but I could use extra cash and I have found it in my heart to settle for a Euro copy for play later on. I had bought this brand new when I was working at a games shop while I was in high school - I am the original owner and have held on to this (as well as the rest of my SMS collection since I bought many of the games new in the store.

Just out of curiosity, is the UPC sticker on the plastic of the case or applied directly to the insert?

This thread made me curious and I went into the basement to unearth my Sonic 1 & 2. For the life of me I can't remember how I acquired the games. I have a modest selection of EUR titles and can't remember if those were EUR releases as well or if I got them from a store locally and pulled the UPC stickers off. :embarrassed:

At any rate, good luck with the sale. I can imagine how bad it sucks to sell this but the upside is you're trying to give your daughters a nice Christmas. :)

How is this not gone yet?

The sticker signifies it was sold in the US, making it as close to a US release as Sonic 1 can be.

I thought I had edited the first post. Sorry I did not add an update post as I was at work posting from my phone :embarrassed:

It had sold as soon as I place a price on it. It shipped to the buyer when I left work today.

I needed a fast sale and offers were not coming in with a price in mind…

Aye, this was also discussed at Sega8bit forums. It's quite easy to do too.

I have a gut feeling who was the person who purchased Sonic. :) If it's him, he is finally happy to complete his US set!

My wife was pushing for a fast sale as we were to shop this weekend for the kids - I would have like to have had time - also the reason I didn't consider fooling with ebay as that is a long process…

I think that the with the sticker being well over 16 years old, and in the pic, you can see the yellowing of it and such - I thought that may affect its value but then it prove its authenticity… a fake label would be of a pristine white color and shine. The insert to my game was still a nice white color - and my game come from a smoke free and pet free home.

I did not want to sell this… this is the first SMS game I have ever sold… I will settle for a euro copy next year… even my daughter was sad to see it go, but then she like Genesis Sonic better lol…

I had contemplated taking a payday advance out for this, but didn't know how much it was going to go for - I would've definitely done it for that price :(

I miss checking the buy and sell thread for a couple days and the game I've been looking for for years comes and goes. Ahh, such is life! Who's the lucky devil who got it?

Someone do some philanthropy and PM me when another one of these comes up. ;)
