Black Box NES Games

So what exactly is the deal with Black Box NES games? I've read here a few times that they usually go for much more than other boxed NES games. Why is this, are they just that much rarer or something? Also, are ALL black box NES games considered collectable? I mean, Baseball and 10 Yard Fight are black boxed, are they valuable? Is there a list somewhere of all the collectable ones?

The reason I ask is that I picked up a shitload of boxed NES games from a Goodwill a while back because it was a great deal and I didn't have most of them boxed. I'm just wondering if I got a better deal than I thought.

all boxed nes games are "collectible". i guess people just like to complete their black box collections so they go for a little more; i don't think they go for much though. certain sealed black box games go for hundreds.

I always found the black boxes (Minus Stackup and big box Gyromite) to be a stupid group of NES items to be worth a lot of money. They're all fairly common, when you think about it. One thing that can dictate the money they get is if they're coming from a collector selling their things, and the stupidity of the bidders. SMB1 can and will go for $50 complete, when it could be one of the top 10 most dirt common games on the NES. Here's a list for reference. Of those, Stackup, big box Gyromite, DK Jr. Math, and maybe Clu Clu Land deserve any attention at all. Never pay more than $10-20 for any of the others if that. Black box has become more of a selling point than anything. Keep in mind that these are games that *will* come up again complete.
