Hello all. I was going through my Nintendo Gamecube stuff today and I realized that I have 2 different copies of Top Gun Combat Zones with different publishers. One if them is released by Titus, the other is released by Mastiff. First of all, I think this is pretty cool, and probably something that not many of you know about. This reminds me of the Final Fantasy games for Gameboy which were released by Square and then Sunsoft. Second of all, I was wondering if anybody here knows of any other Gamecube games that have different publishers. If there are any more I would like to add them to my collection.

Here are some pics

I don't know of any other games with multiple publishers, but I'll guess that the reason why Top Gun: Combat Zones was released by two different publishers was because Mastiff got the rights from Titus.

According to Mastiff's site, the code was licensed to them. Again, this is all conjecture, but Titus probably licensed the code when they were in financial peril before going out of business.

You know, I didn't know this. Interesting... for the record I have the Titus version in my collection.

Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX 2 was released by Acclaim and then re-released by Crave a few years later on PS2, but I'm not sure if they re-released the Gamecube version.

Damn, i need to check out the Dave Mirra's Freestyle BMX 2 versions then.
Top Gun Combat Zones is also like that for the ps2.

Anyway, i know of a few more, but for the ps2, so you would need to see if they apply to the gamecube. They are,

ATV Quad Power Racing 2 (Acclaim and Crave)
Starsky & Hutch (There are 2 versions, just not remembering the company's on the cover)

These games got a alternative cover, or reprint with new cover.
Midway Arcade Treasures
MX World Tour Featuring Jamie Little (It doesn't appear that it came out for the gamecube) Did it?
Tetris Worlds

I was also told Driven, had 2 versions on the ps2, but I've yet to see the other one, so maybe the gamecube has 2 versions too.

Way of the Samurai 3 for the PS3 and 360.

Agetec did the localization for the PS3 version while UFO Interactive did the localization for the 360 version.

I should have bought the game when it was 29.99 on Amazon. Way of the Samurai is good and Agetec usually releases in limited supply. Thankfully it's a game not many people are interested in so maybe will be able to pick it up cheaper later.

I don't think that's quite what he meant.^

CelticJobber, I've been looking for a Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 (crave version), and I've yet to find it. Got a picture or any proof?

Midway Arcade Treasures and Midway Arcade Treasures 1, does indeed exist or the gamecube, been checking ebay to find out for some of these.

Starsky & Hutch has 2 versions, one done by Gotham Games and the other Global Star, for the ps2. I couldn't find 2 versions for the gamecube. (That doesn't mean it doesn't exist)

I didn't find any more info about those other ps2 games I listed, that might or might not, have gamecube variants.

To everyone: Thanks for your responses. I will check into games like Starsky, Midway Arcade Treasures, ATV, etc. to see if they have multiple publishers for the Gamecube. As of right now I am mostly interested in just the Gamecube versions. I will post my findings here (which will probably be months from now because it'll be a while before I get around to it).

You know, I didn't know this. Interesting... for the record I have the Titus version in my collection.

Yeah, I agree, it is interesting!

For the record I was at my GameStop today and they had the 2 different copies of Top Gun from Titus and Mastiff. If I had not noticed this a week ago I would have noticed it today. :-D
