just got this game yesterday...i'm still having trouble finding a word better than amazing to describe it.

it's fun. like, this is the first game in a while that i've actually enjoyed playing. Ninja Gaiden was kind of like, just playing to play...but Bayonetta is everything DMC and NG are, remove all the annoying and crappy parts, and add even more style and flair.

i'm only on the 4 level so far, but i'm totally loving this game. it probably helps that Youji Shimamura, action director for Versus, had a hand in the action sequences. everything is so stylized and fun to watch. :)

this game doesn't re-invent the wheel in any way, but it's the best there is at what it does. play it!

I got to play the demo early since I am a member of SegaPass (go figure, hehehe), and I really enjoyed the demo.

I am happy that the rest of the game is holding up to the demo.

I got the early demo pass as well, and I thought it was just weird. It's a good action game, a bit too much on the beat-em-up side of things for my taste, but the design is too odd. I don't think I'll be forgetting it anytime soon, though.

I hear the PS3 version blows compared to the 360 version, which sucks for me.

I did not know that. I really enjoyed Versus, too.

'Tis true, but from what I understand, Sega and Sony are working overtime to bridge the gap before the US release.

Put in a pre-order. I was on the fence, due me sucking at playing the game, but recently I've improved considerably. I wish we were getting that special Climax edition of the game.

I finally got to run thru the demo a couple of times. Lots of action going on, almost to the point of being too chaotic. It has potential though and I enjoyed the torture kills. I'll have to check out the full game once it hits a lower price.

I will probably never play this game. But, no matter how done to death it has been already, I will find the protagonist's resemblance to Sarah Palin endlessly amusing. Endlessly.

There's a versus mode? Or are you talking about something entirely different?

I played the demo also. I gotta agree with 1 2 P. Way too much going on to the point I could not tell if I was winning or losing. Some cool moves though.

Reminds me of Devil May Cry meets Marvel Vs. Capcom with a whole lotta chaos thrown in.

Just making sure you guys realize that he is playing the full game(Japanese release) on PS3. Not the demo or anything of the sort. Just checking as most have replied with things regarding the demo.

yea, sorry. should have been more clear. :)

the ps3 version seems 5by5 in my opinion, but then again i didn't compare it to the 360 version. honestly, if it was only on ps3, you wouldn't know the difference.

i've since finished the game, and took a break before making a platinum run. there are a few levels towards the end (no spoilers!) that are kind of frustrating, but a) seems to be Kamiya's MO, and b) i do kind of suck at it...so it's all good.

I just bought this today, for the 360.

I'm only on chapter 2 and all I can say is "WOW!!!"

It totally exceeed the expectaions I had from the demo.

Finally, a game worth of the Sega brand. Those have been sorely lacking, lately.

played the demo a coupla weeks ago. i wasn't impressed. i mean, in a technical sense it's quite good. no slowdown even with all the action going on, plus it's a tad button-mashy, which is the way i like my brawlers. i just don't like the style: the overblown main character, the wonky camera, and the use of irritating j-pop.

The J-pop that was in the demo seems like it was replaced with more 'Americanized' techno. Maybe they did it for the western audience, but the music doesn't seem as annoying as it did in the demo.

But so far, the descriptions for this game have been spot on - it's like a hyper-sexualized Devil May Cry meets Ninja Gaiden/God Of War.

The fighting system is very fluid, good upgrade system, plenty of unockables, great replayability... Of course, no multiplayer would be a drawback to most people - not me. This should tide me over until Bioshock 2.

I tried the demo and found it to be like DMC on steroids with hair powers. While I enjoyed it, I don't think I enjoyed it enough to pay 60.00 for it. May pick it up used or wait for the eventual price drop.

I beat it on Normal last night. You wanna talk about epic.... While the story made no sense, the ending was just more grand than anything I've ever seen before. I'm currently playing it again on Hard.

Lot of nice homages to Gears of War and Devil May Cry in some cutscenes. And the Space Harrier stage was a nice touch! ;)

My friend picked this up on Saturday and I was watching him play it, the game looks like it would be really fun. My bro said he was a little less than halfway thru the game, but the level design had the epicness of like the last boss of a final fantasy. Really cool.

While I always appreciated them, I was never a big fan of the Devi May Cry games ...

... Bayonetta while very much in the same vein/style as DMC has a certain "something" that I can't put my finger on ... I suppose it goes over the top the way that the opening sequence of DMC 1 sort of promised but IMO never REALLY delivered on in a huge huge way.

If I'm not mistaken a lot of the ex Clover team worked on Bayonetta and it really feels like a great synergy between them and Hideki Kamiya.

Some of the best parts of God Hand seem to have made their way in to Bayonetta.

It's some of the most FUN I've had with a hack & slash/action platformer in a long long time. It's the first new title I've played on my new 52 inch Bravia ... and I'll reiterate how I felt about the PS3 demo with the full version of the game .... I'm really not sure what the complaints are about the graphics on the PS3 version, the frame rate looks solid, the textures are all nice, there's little to no tearing ... I really don't know what the issue is that people were bitching about prior to the game's release.

It's great great stuff and perhaps my favorite game of 2010 so far.

I'm loving it, but Goddammit, the camera is almost as bad as Ninja Gaiden II. Why is it that the God of War games are the only series in this style that have an acceptable camera?

Still, the action makes Dante, Kratos, and Ryu Hayabusa look like narcolepsy sufferers, and the enemy designs are great. Also: shotguns attached to your feet? Yes, please.

Because God of War runs with a locked camera view. It tracks around, but you can't move it freely.

Ah, you got the same commercial as us then... and the slowed version of it rather suits the action...

On the final stage, on hard mode, and I'm still wanting to play again.

This game is classic Sega - fun to play, and replayability out the wazoo.

I think it's safe to say that Bayonetta has topped Ninja Gaiden as my favorite action-slash game. I can't wait to see how God Of War 3 can top this... I'm not saying it can't, but it's got an awful lot to live up to, now. I'm sure it will have a much better (and logical) story, but this game is just balls-to-the-wall action.

But I can't get any statue over silver, to save my life! Every stage I've beaten, I pretty much get a stone statue every time.

Oooh .... I just realized that you can select earlier chapters mid-game and you keep your upgraded weapon load-out and move set.

Time to get me some better grades and gold level trophies.

Love that Katana weapon!

Now playing Non-stop Climax Mode.

No witch time - period.

I can't even make it past The Vestibule fully stocked on lolly's and shots. The key is to keep shooting your guns and use your melee attacks as sparingly as possible, but the heavy armored enemies refuse to go down easily.

Load times have been the number one complaint, and patch came out today:

I finally got it.

It's the best game I've played on the PS3. Accessible, yet deep - it's been a LONG time since I've played a game as well designed as this.

Agree. It's even better since it's only $20 on both PS3 and 360 at Best Buy both on-line and in-store. Better hurry though, not sure when the sale ends.
