Anyone know if the Laseractive 3D goggles work with 3d movies? Or with the sms?

They definitely won't work for 3D movies, but the LA and the SMS 3D goggles ARE compatible. I've never actually tried the LA goggles on a SMS but I have tried the SMS 3D goggles on an LA - so I think it's fair to say they work on both systems.

Cool... so what would I actually use these for? Are there many 3d LDroms? I assume it's hard to get the sms adaptor to work on the genesis module... what are the primary use for these goggles?
The glasses use shutters that effectively close your left eye then your right eye repeatedly at a high speed. Since this is the same technology that SMS glasses use, yes they will work with 3D SMS games. However, to plug them into your SMS you need the adapter that goes with the SMS glasses. Alternatively, you could try running your LA with the glasses while playing a 3D game on your SMS. That should work too.
I don't think they would work with 3D movies.

Yeah, check our LaserActive list online. There are only a handful of titles that use them, and in my opinion the effect isn't all that great. Personally I think the SMS 3D games use this technology to far greater effect.

Buh, the LA games always go for $! on ebay. I'll have to try and pick up a power base converter and see if I can't convince it to work on the laseractive.

So are you saying that you want to play Sega Master System 3D games on a LaserActive with LaserActive goggles? You CAN get a Power Base Converter to work in a LaserActive, I think Keir rigged his to do that, so has CX2K.

I'm saying I want to get the most use I can out of those goggles, and if I can't watch 3d movies with them, can't drop $50 each on limited function 3d LDroms, it looks like I'm going to have to nab a converter to play sms games and get it working with the LA. Oh, that means I'll have to nab some sms 3d games, too.
Actually, I use a Brazilian SMS/Genesis adapter which fits nicely in my LA without modification. Looks way better too. Check out this old thread (sorry my pics are gone):

Also, lik-sang has an adapter for sale that looks like it would fit in a Laseractive:

Cool! I'll have to keep that in mind as I shop around some. It will definitely get added to the long list of game related projects I have.
