I found a Japanese Nintendo 64 at a Goodwill in Kentucky this weekend. The issue is it's missing the power supply, but I couldn't pass it up for $15 with a CIB copy of Tetris. Does any know if a US power supply will work or do I need anything special?

Thanks for any help.

My guess it that it would work. As long as you're using the US adapter, it should be fine. Just don't try a Japanese adapter on a US circuit. Check the bottom of the console and see if there are any voltage / amp requirements. There aren't any printed on the NA consoles - it's listed on the adapter itself. I would imagine both countries' decks get the same DC voltage. The only difference should be the input requirements on the two different AC adapters. Like when we got my brothers-in-law an American DS for them in Italy, we had to go to a local electronics store there in their town to get the European AC adapter. So it should work.

I would think.

It will be fine on a US power supply.

Even if you had a Japanese one, it would be fine on a US circuit (unlike what Cambot said, who apparently doesn't know about the Japanese power system at all). Japan is 100v, American is 115v. The difference isn't great enough to damage an N64.

Yes, it should work with U.S. same with a/v cable, but try to refrain from other components like U.S. ram expanders, but not sure if that would work. You going to get a Disk Drive now?

Thank you for the advice. I'm not sure about a disk drive. Guess I'll check ebay
