That sounds really awesome! If I wasnt going to Magfest on the 1st and a neo geo meetup that day I may come there to promote Game Core. Post pictures and info on how it goes. If you guys are going to do more events www.gamecorecon.com would be a great place to promote. Also www.magfest.com would be a great place to promote this event!

Wow, you would be coming from a good distance. Chesapeake is in the most southeastern part of Virginia lying on the North Carolina border and the edge of the Atlantic. It is a one day (Saturday) event at this time with Friday and Sunday as drop-off and pick-up days for those bringing larger items like arcades. So far the arcade list is:
Robotron 2084
Mrs. Pac-Man
Galaga
Rygar
Dragon’s Lair
One or two Neo-Geo MVS machines may be present and still working out more (hoping). There will be a large number of consoles and classic computers to hop on and two side rooms, one for showing movies during the day and another for panels.

Bad news. Due to the call of a foot of snow, or whatever the crazy estimate is at the moment, the city had a meeting this morning and I got the word that most likely the facilities will be shut down. We have decided to postpone the event and I will post that information when it becomes known; I'll be updating the Website as well. Also there is a Facebook group going so you may want to check that out.
Sorry for the bad news but we won't let these last several months of planning go to waste! Stay tuned.

Okay, it's now July 6th and the event is happening on August 7th. We will have many arcades, some pinballs, lots of console and computer harware with games, and so forth. Expect a decent showing and some fun! See first post for details.

This event looks awesome and well planned. Are you offering any dealer space for sale?

At this time, no. This is a free event where we have permission and assistance from the library to host at. We're bringing our own property, hardware and software, with no outside funding. Depending on the showing and assessing feedback either this will be it (doubtful), another free even hosted several months to a year down the road again, or an attempt to hit a conference space in the area. If the third possibility is to occur then expect the pursuit of vendor and sponsorships along with some other ideas. The problem with hosting at the library is they have other events containing vendors, but there are other legal rules to follow; we're just setting stuff up for the public. It may become an option next time around if still held at the library, just cannot guarantee anything at the moment.
Aside from where this may go post-event; if you can come on out and enjoy what may be setup and made available. The video game related films to be shown are:
9:30am: The Wizard
1:30pm: The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters
7:00pm: Tron
9:00pm: The Last Star Fighter
If you manage to stick around til midnight feel free to join us up at IHOP. :-P
