Game Gear Models????

Im new to this forum and so far am enjoying it. Lots of very useful information.

I do have a question Ive been searching on for about a week, and still can not find a answer.

I recently picked up 3 game gears, and a bunch of accessorys. Ive been taking them apart and making one really nice unit out of all of them.

One thing i noticed though, is ones alittle bit different, the main board that is. Two of the models i have are 2110, and one of them is a 2110G. I called a friend that has a couple game gears, he has a 2110, and a 2110K.

So far ive seen 2110, 2110G, and 2110k, does anybody know what the difference is on these?? I know the 2110 has 2 asic chips, and the 2110G has only one asic chip. But i dont know which is better and why.

Does anybody know??

functionally i beleive they are the same BUT the one with only one ASIC chip will not give you a "licensened by sega" screen every time to go to play a game on it. also the 1 ASIC version is much easier to modify if you want to do a TV out mod to play it on a TV.

at one point i spent alot of time looking for a 1 ASIC GG just for that reason.
