I know that sometimes Hulu content can't be viewed outside the US for copyright reasons. No idea if this is one of those times.
It's nice to see the old episodes again. Say it with me now ... "Well EXCUUUuuUUSE ME princess!" :D

Was I the only person who watched the Super Mario Super Show just for the Zelda cartoons on Friday (I think)? I haven't seen that cartoon in maybe 15 years, too bad Canadians can't get anything on Hulu right now.

Cool. Or you can watch it streaming legally for free.
I wish people outside the US could get Hulu because they have some excellent anime playing. Baccano! (http://www.hulu.com/baccano) and Darker then Black (http://www.hulu.com/darker-than-black?c=Animation-and-Cartoons) come to mind.

I think I was the same way. I watched the show the rest of the week but it Fridays I had to rush home from school for.

Too bad the box set is shitty and has maybe 4-5 episodes unaltered as they aired.
Fucking Shout! Entertainment, they can't just leave things alone. The live-action skits are missing for most of the episodes, blah. Same goes for those "Bonus" episodes on the SMBSS Box Set.
But I digress. Legend of Zelda is still a great cartoon.

I remember watching this as a kid and loving it.
I'm attempting to watch it now and it's almost unbearable...I can't stand Link's character or voice :(

Or.....I could by the $14 CD legally.
What was your point here?

That you can watch them for free obviously was my point.

Then why didn't you just say that? I guess using the word legally was your way of saying 'this is better than downloading, despite no one bringing it up'?

Thanks for posting that. I haven't seen any of these since their airdates.

I think my nostalgia-clouded memory of the show is going to be much more radical than watching the show again and now realizing just how bad it probably was lol. Thanks, but I'll leave this one in the past...

I've always been in the camp that Zelda should have been spun off into its own series, as Lou Albano or not, the SMBSS was absolutely horrible, so I'm in no way upset that the DVD set by Shout! Factory has trimmed away those trappings. Besides, it's infinitely better than what Shout! Factory has done with the Sunbow library so far.
However, a big problem with DiC (besides their cutthroat anti-union tactics and reliance on ultra-cheap studios for their animation, which led to numerous rounds of re-takes) was their reliance on celebrity appearances and cover versions of popular songs in their shows. We'll NEVER see Kidd Video on DVD because of this, and I've yet to even find the show traded on the bootleg circuit. Everything not present on the Zelda and SMBSS sets is a result of this same short-sighted policy by DiC (and it also led to music replacement on the Captain N DVDs as well).

Damn I wish I had access to Hulu. Whenever I'm in the US I'm on a shitty hotel connection.
Sucks they edited it on the DVDs. Hell I'd rather have VHS rips WITH commercials :D

I liked the Zelda cartoon. Too bad the oldschool advertisements won't be available as well.
On one of the SMBSS VHS tapes I own that has Legend of Zelda, it has this commercial. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT_wUEl4Vg4 The memories. :) Though this Youtube video was cut a little early. Right at the end after it's cut it says "Nestle Quik. A chocolatey dream come true." I still drink Nestle Quik, though the name is now changed to Nesquik.
