If the first system has never been used, the SMB3 should have its original wrap and all. Sounds like BS to me.
The second system's cords do look a little awkward for something that is supposed to be unused. Potentially also BS.

People are dumb, don't forget that. Some do not understand the difference between CIB and NIB.

Dunno. I think the first one seems legit, but agree the second one has been used...

I call shenanigans on both. Those starting prices are nuts too!

I wouldn't buy either one.

The first one looks good to me, however it clearly being a later release of the NES, I wouldn't pay more then 200 for one(and even that is probally alittle too high).
The 2nd one was clearly used, but in "like new"/not brand new condition.
However with some of the gems he is selling with it, It's easily worth the $400 price tag.
Yea, specifically when it comes to games, and such, people don't know how to list them/grade them.

the opened super mario 3 game on the 1st one totally gives it away as being used.
on the 2nd one, he's actually not including all those games despite the pictures.
Well the thing that caught me, was that the actual game is still in its wrapping(you aren't gonna unwrap the box, and not unwrap the game), so I doubted the box was ever wrapped since it was bundled.
However after a second look, I noticed the manual Isn't in the game sleave with the game, which is complete BS, and is a clear sign/red flag indicating he rewrapped it(thus running a scam).
Note: only a few games, which had full box length booklets(like Wizardry 2) would've been packaged sepperately.
Oh really, then he should be reported for trying to run a scam, and without those games, the item Isn't even worth half of that price.
While his description doesn't specifically list the games, if you post a picture, It's assumed they are included.

I don't get why people buy "NIB" systems like this. If they open the box, it's not new! Save your money and don't go for either of these.

Well technically the old systems, especially the NES systems never actually had a factory sealed box. They were sealed by way of a round clear sticker, thus it doesn't detract from the value if It's missing(besides if it bothers you that much, It's easy to replace, but don't try running a scam, which maybe the reason why everyone opens it, to prove what it is). What matters is, the condition of the box, that It's complete, and all the contents in the box are still factory sealed.

Yah, both are crap. I mean, they might have never been used... but definately taken out of the boxes and unwrapped.
I'll have to dig out some of my NIB NES systems to take some pics sometime.
The SMB3 was NOT sealed in the box BTW; at least mine wasn't. The manual is, of course, supposed to be in the sleeve though.

Yea, I didn't think the SMB3's box would be factory sealed. Yep exactly, that's how I knew it was bogus, the manual is a clear giveaway, the game was touched.

Actually, there was tape on the outside of the box that said "Included with Challenge Set" or something like that on it. If that is missing, I believe that it is likely not new in box.
EDIT: By box, I mean Super Mario Bros. 3, of course.

What he said. It's incredibly obvious that the copy with the Challenge set is the right one.

While obviously shady..if you EVER assume items are included without it being stated they are, or asking questions first...the buyer is almost as much at fault as the shady seller.

Yikes! those are some crazy prices. I'll stick with my open NES that I paid 40 shipped for and with 3 games at that.
