If you have to recommend 5 games what would they be?

POPEYE
Mr. Do!
The Heist
Frogger
Burger Time

And I REALLY suggest a USB Multicart from Atari MAX! Nice to have just about EVERY game on hand in one cart, save on wearing down the cart slot and tracking down ever game and you still get to play on the original hardware PLUS have access to homebrews, protos etc!

Yeah, the AtariMax cart is an absolute must-have. Biggest thing to note about the good ol' CV is that it really is a system that caters to single player. The 2600 is still the 2 player king from the golden age. Here are my 5:

1. Turbo - you need the driving controller, but it is well worth it for this. If only Hyperchase for Vectrex played this well.
2. Zaxxon - not perfect, but one of the best for its time.
3. SubRoc - another Sega must-have.
4. GORF - best home conversion other than the Jaguar CD version.
5. Time Pilot - love this conversion as well.

Honorable mentions: LadyBug, Defender, Antarctic Adventure, Frogger, Donkey Kong, Space Fury... Colecovision Rocks!

LadyBug
Mr Do
Time Pilot
Zaxxon
Gorf

Besides the 5200, the Colecovision is the only system I really enjoy thats pre-NES.

Montezumas Revenge and Gateway to Apshai

Gorf, Mr Do, and Burgertime

Gateway to Apshai is BEST on the coleco vision. Soooo good.

thanks for the ideas so far. Been checking some of these out via emu (not the best way of experiencing them admittedly) and there's some truly fantastic arcade conversions on it. Very impressed.

Blasphemous, yes, but the CV controller is so awful, emulation is probably better. Turbo only works on a real system though ;)

Here are some previous discussions that I think you will find very helpful:

IMO there are 12 "must-have" CV games:

Donkey Kong
Smurf Rescue
Venture
Cosmic Avenger
Carnival
Mr. DO!
Zaxxon
Mouse Trap
Lady Bug
Time Pilot
Pepper II
Turbo w/ steering wheel

A nice library of the essentials, something for everyone in the bunch (w/ accent on maze games ;)) Oh, & Bump & Jump is pretty fun w/ the wheel too.

Also grab Burgertime if you can.

I'll recommend Spectar (homebrew port of the arcade game) by Scott Huggins. I ended up getting several Colecovisions (nearly all dead or glitchy) just to have a fully functioning console to play it on.

Your link doesn't appear to be valid.

Quick question - what is the best Colecovision emulator currently available?
Blast it, it was good the other day. Basically, it was just a search results page of Colecovision threads in Classic Discussions. There were three of them. I'll just provide the direct links:

Official ColecoVision Thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48881)
Top 20 ColecoVision Games (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1482)
Worst 20 ColecoVision Games! (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8786)

Oh, to answer your question, I don't know what would be considered the best Colecovision emulator, but I use AdamX on my Xbox and am pleased with that.
