Went on a wild guess earlier at a flea market and bought a copy of gyromite because I remembered you guys talking about some of them having famicom converters in them. Sure enough, after opening it up, it DOES have a famicom converter.
Anyone know how much this would sell for? Also, what other games have these converters?

Well personally Ive not heard of them being worth to much if anything at all. I mean...you can go to almost any old school game store and get gyromite for like 2 bucks. Ive got 2 but dont have any famicon games to test them with yet. I may be wrong but i dunno.

I've seen the converters go for $10-$20, depending on the buyer.
As for other games that have them, you'll only find them in early "black box" releases with five screws on the back and a specific pin pattern. You can find out more here...

Ebay took down my listing...Don't see why they took mine down specifically when other people on ebay have theirs listed.

Maybe a year ago. Now nobody wants them and if they do I would ask, where the hell were these people 6 months ago.
I would say they aren't worth anything beyond the normal price of Gyromite, so a couple dollars.

Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I had mine listed on this website for a few months at $10 shipped anywhere and my result... nothing. These carts aren't worth anything more than what they used to be. Couple bucks at most.

Really? I have extras. I'll make a reasonable sales offer. I'll sell one with a converter inside for $15. PM me if anyone's interested.

Thanks for linking to my writeup about this subject! :)

That was me too, for a completely reworked cartridge like the one shown on the bottom of my writeup linked above. But as you can see, in my opinion anyway, it was about $50.00 of modification work. The time and engineering to make one of those is actually more than to do a Sega Saturn USA/JPN mod for instance. Saturn mod usually costs a little more though since it takes more parts and I add the cost of the Saturn hardware itself.
For the record I'm sold out of my custom Famicom to NES converters and I no longer have the facilities to make any more. I just have that single first prototype shown in the pictures. I was hoping to make more over the summer but it didn't pan out.

That's what I would say. A vanilla Gyromite with converter isn't worth $50 let alone more than $10, but the way you created stand-alone converter cartridges, definitely worth it. I too would say your write-up was a good read the couple years ago when I first heard about it.
