As a kid I remeber they made them...I think a Game Gear case may work if you're desperate

The Nomad I picked up at a flea market 2 years ago came with a Nomad branded carrying case. I'll edit this post later with a picture of it.
EDIT: Nevermind the picture, the case listed in the ebay auction gum_drops linked to is the same thing I have.

Yep, the CDX and Gamegear also had their own carrying cases.
Here (http://cgi.ebay.com/Sega-Nomad-Original-Authentic-Travel-Case_W0QQitemZ170422653079QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo _Games_Accessories?hash=item27adfb5097) is a link to the most recent one that sold on ebay.

I just bought a game gear case, with a game gear, ac adapter, and 9 games for $20 yesterday at a thift store. :) Doesn't look like a nomad will fit it.

So yes, they do exist.

I've got an official Sega Nomad carrying case so I know for a fact they are out there. It's canvas fabric and has NOMAD embroidered in Yellow letters.

For those of you who own the official case, how good is it? I wanted to track one down years ago when my nomad got a lot of play time.

Doesn't look like it holds an AC adapter, unfortunately; just game snap cases in that pouch. It looks like it's a bigger version of cases for compact cameras...I bet one of those could work as a replacement.

I too have one, and it is a standard holster-style canvas slip case, much like the old Lynx ones. Like Raedon said, the Nomad lettering is embroidered, which is a nice bonus. It doesn't hold much in the way of extras (the front compartment really only holds 2 Genesis games and maybe a set of earbuds), but it does offer decent protection. Overall, it is a nice complement for the system, but not a necessity. They do show up on eBay too, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get; though the price in the linked auction ($25) is definitely the going rate.
Slightly OT, but the TurboExpress-branded case was the hardest to find for me. It is a totally ridiculous looking, neon orange fanny pack (!) with a padded compartment inside for the TE. Hightly unnecessary, but totally desirable for the collector in me. I just need to have the branded case if it exists. Sorry to derail.

Here is mine to give you an idea what they look like. I have my Nomad, rechargeable battery pak, battery pak, and four games inside. This is a closeup of one like in that auction listed above.

The Nomad fits in the middle section of the case with a storage pocket on the back and front. It is made from a heavy cloth.

It looks like nylon to me. Maybe real thick polyester or somethin'. I take it you prevent scratches by taking out / replacing the Nomad slowly?

The inside middle section is lined with a puffy fluff material I couldn't even begin to put a material name to.
It's a good case but if all you are wanting to do is protect the NOMAD then a camcorder / camera case would do just as good for a lot cheaper.

I have a 3rd party case for my Game Gear. I got it for Toy Works back in the late 90s and it has been useful to me ever since. It was pretty big and probably would've fit a SEGA Nomad.
For whatever reason I remember my mom saying it was actually a SEGA Genesis case, but I'm fairly positive that it wouldn't fit any Genesis model.

Thanks for clearing that up, and for mentioning camcorder cases...I bet one of those would do nicely.
