Last night my controller was on the brink of death, so i plugged it in to charge but the leds on the control werent flash. so i left it plugged in thinking that it was charging without the lights blinking.
i tried it today and its works but were the system shows the battery life it just got a minus symbol.
so im confused and lost
does anyone know whats going on?
i forgot to add that i was charging on a usb charging dock and i also tried just the usb cord with no luck

I would plug it directly in to the system with the system powered off and then power up the system and see if it starts charging. Also try hitting the guide button to see if that turns it on so that it can start taking a charge. If all that fails call Sony at 1.800.345.7669

Most rechargable batteries can only take so many charges before it won't hold one, anymore.
That was the PS3's achilies heel, if you will - designing the controllers without a replaceable battery. I'm already on my third controller. The 360's batteries are worse. I've bought 4 rechargable batteries since I bought mine, shortly after launch. Granted the 360's controllers are much more 'accessable', it's still a pain in the ass having to buy a new battery every few months.

Yeah I say if it gets to the point where my controller's battery permanently dies, I'll just go old school and buy a nice long device-to-USB cord and play games with the controller plugged in to the system. Why buy another controller if wireless is no big deal?
