What is the deal?? I have been following for the past couple years develoment on a sequel to KOTOR 2? I know that the so called sequel is Star Wars:The Old Republic and from what I understand it might just be released on PC? What is the deal with the companies making these games? Who is Bioware or Obsidian or whoever? I am for one not a huge online gamer and from what I understand it will be MMO? That is all well and good but how and where do these companies get off creating these awesome games and fail to deliver backing them up? I for one...love the original KOTOR and I thought the 2nd one was ehh...okay...but still addictive and good. I have been craving a sequel or something and everyone has failed to deliver..Needless to say...I am pissed!! Anyone have any info or anything ...thoughts, comments, opinions?? Also, weren't these games critically acclaimed....GAME OF THE YEAR! If they were why not keep going with the cash cow?

Bioware kept making games, you know. Maybe you've heard of Mass Effect? Or Dragon Age? Both are excellent games, inspired by KotOR (which itself was inspired by Baldur's Gate, etc.) and well worth your time. If you're craving more of this type of gameplay, it's out there. It just doesn't happen to be set in the Star Wars universe.

I can't wait for this MMO.

There is a lot of WoW fatigue out there and if a Developer gets 'it' right, this incredibly lucrative market that is just waiting for the next best MMO that isn't WoW-like. If a new MMO has floating '!' and '?' anywhere the developers didn't 'get it.'

I can't see BIOWARE fucking up this MMO too much but Dragon Age wasn't as amazing as I'd hoped. They can't fuck it up as bad as Star Wars Galaxies though.

As mentioned by Wisesalesman, Bioware has made such games as Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age Origins, and Mass Effect (Mass Effect 2 is coming out on Jan. 26). If fantasy settings really isn't your thing, Mass Effect is there for your sci-fi fix. If you really, really want Star Wars, then go for other games linked to the series, like Lego Star Wars, Star Wars: Battlefront, and Jedi Knight. Sure, these aren't RPGs, but if it's mostly fighting with light sabers that you want, they can do the job.

I'm wondering this too.

That said, OP...if you're not a troll, then play Mass Effect. It's the spiritual successor to KOTOR in my opinion and a definite must-play.

I also have been waiting for a proper sequel to KOTOR 2. Unfortunately I think Bioware is way to busy to deliver another one. Those first two games are classics. I would have loved to have tried The Old Republic when it comes out but I'm strictly a console/handheld gamer. Oh well.
