Hello everyone.

The iphone video game price guide version 2.2 has been uploaded to apple and is awaiting approval. This version updates the prices and also adds some more classic systems, like the Adventure Vision and Astrocade.

But.. my question is this, and please respond so that we an make the iphone app better for everyone.

A) Would you prefer an all inclusive application (as it is now) that includes prices for every system contained in one application and would be priced at about $9.99 (with future updates free)

or

B) Would you prefer individual appliations for each system? These individual appliations would contain more features, such as screenshots, cover artwork, instructions on how to play a game, hints, cheats, etc. These would be priced $0.99 to $9.99 depending on the complexity of the console.

Thanks for your time.

There are sites that do this for free and are as simple as opening up a link in iPhone's safari. I don't think an application would make this any more convienent. What makes your applications worth paying for over, lets say, the $0.00 for videogamepricecharts or gamefaqs.

I can understand you point, but the idea behind separate apps would be to catalog a collection. Like the Game Collector by Collectorz.com does. Currently we charge $4.99 for the price guide and the app is rated 4 stars, with hundreds of downloads worldwide (that kind of puzzles me since the prices are USD).

Also, VideoGamePriceCharts.com has a pay service as well as the free service.

If it would be possible to port this to Android phones, I'd be all over it for $9.99 all inclusive. However, I take it this only has US values (measured by rarity?). I'd love to see an app like this with support for us Europeans but I don't know if there's enough data collected to properly create price and rarity lists.

But again, if it was an Android app I'd buy it in a heartbeat :D

I'd like the app to stay as it currently is supporting multiple systems under one shell. Instead of worrying about screenshots, guides and all that jazz, I'd be much more interested in you improving the visual interface to make it easier to check off titles and to see which games you currently have by just looking at the main listing (rather than, as we must do now, go into each individual game and scroll down to see). Being able to sort lists by Full/Owned/Wanted games would also be a very cool addition. Or even just seeing all your Want/Have picks on a full list would be effective. As it is now, the app is nice to have, but the tracking function is way too cumbersome and lacking in interactivity to be of any use.
