Sorry for the lateness, I had to go out of town very early this morning, and am just getting rolling this evening.

Anyway, I thought we'd start the new year by scrubbing off the game that has been on the request list for the longest amount of time... Dr. Micro!

I don't see a KLOV listing for this game. The first level is VERY similar to the first screen of Donkey Kong Jr. in my opinion. The second screen seems to involve angry beach balls...I've got no idea. I get tripped up in this second screen, so I have no idea how to complete it, and what comes next.

Anyway, usual "rules" apply, download the game...play it and talk about it in this thread. I hope in the new year we can get more people playing every week.

If you need the ROM, you'll be able to get it from http://www.robohara.com/mameclub/

Happy '010 everybody, and MAME ON!

Interesting little game I recently came across when setting up vertical (two button max) games for an upcoming MAME cabinet. The second screen is completed after you shoot a few of the red guys, at least I think that's what the trigger is. Eventually a hatch will open in the middle of the screen that you need to float up to. I haven't totally figured out the third screen but I think you just need to get up to the top, it's more standard platforming than the rest and reminds me a lot of Donkey Kong II.

For an addition to the already oversized list, I nominate Sky Adventure (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9563), a vertical SNK shooter.

Yikes... only 1 response?

Anyway, today I got to 16,960 and actually got the goal to open up to finish level 2. Unfortunately, it shut on me, and then I got murdered by the red balls of death.

Also, on the moving platforms in level 1. I finally realized you could control which direction the platforms were moving. Good info to have :)

I haven't yet downloaded the game. I'll try it tomorrow.

Hm, talk about obscure. But it's pretty fun, even if I couldn't get very far, I only got to the screen with the red guys.

Ok, so I fired it up a few minutes ago. My High Score so far is 13,730. But I have no idea what the goal is on Stage 2? How do you complete it?

Anyway I've never heard of it, but I like it. It's in that same vein as Popeye, Donkey Kong, and Mario Bros, which is great. I need to go check it out on KLOV, just to get some more info on it. Good pick.

EDIT: Ok, so it's not on KLOV. There's so little info about this game, that this exact thread is 4th among Google's search results. Here's some info, but it doesn't say much more than we already know.

There's actually a pretty decent explanatory attract mode, that's how I figured things out anyway.

God, I'm an idiot. I missed your post last night, and didn't see it this morning when I was posting. Thanks for the tip, I'll go and try it in a little bit.
