I'm fully aware of DKC and Star Fox. I'm talking about the NBA Jam/Judge Dredd game. There are also rumors of others. It just occured to me that I've never seen a past auction, much less a picture of these games. Whats the deal?

Apparently there is a rom floating around of the genesis one, at least thats what I'm assuming. Genesis Collective has screenshots. I'd like to see actual cartridge pictures though. Does anybody own this game? If nobody does, than that should certainly make it an R10 instead of an R9 in the guide.

From the little that I've read, there were ads for this in comic books or something, so the event really did happen. Is it possible that the majority of the cartridges used were destroyed though? Is it possible that these were put on those Game Factory carts they tried using for Genesis, and thats why so few, if any, have shown up?

I have the Genesis Blockbuster cart with NBA Jam and Judge Dredd. I got it off of eBay 4 months ago, and I private offered it 6 hours after the auction started. I check for friends for this every week or so, and have yet to see it. No one I have talked to have it, and only one has heard of someone having it (On gametz, and the guy offering was using it more as a taunt/brag).

The cart itself has no top label, and the front label is all text. Unless none others turn up besides mine, a R10 *may* be in order.

As far as the other BB carts for Genesis, I don't think they exist, because they weren't used for any competition.

I've seen a Genesis Blockbuster championship II cart, so I know that one exists. Someone on this board got one off ebay last year for $50 BIN.

Yes, Dave (portnoyd) has one, I've seen it. And I fully intend on throwing a karate chop on the back of the neck on a cold, dark evening to wrest it from his evil grasp.

So when were you planning on posting a pic Dave LOL ? You don't understand how much i'd like to see this.

So the Genesis version definitely exists. Is it alright to rule out any different Genesis ones? How about the SNES one? Also, is this the only known copy? If so, we're talking Air Raid hard to find here. We should make it an R10.

Maybe you could get the Iron Monkey Clan to take care of that! :D :D

Someone like Riki-Oh could take care of that. LOL

Ow. ;)

Glad I made it to page 3 to dig this thread out. Been on business since Wednesday.

I'll scan this as soon as I can, and I'll post it to this thread.

I may have been the one who got it for $50. I private offered $50, and he set the BIN price to $50 (there was no BIN when it started, just a starting bid of $1.50).

I'd rule out the other Genesis ones, and any specific other SNES ones until someone turns it up. The II in the Blockbuster Championship II refers to the Championship #, NOT the cart #. (So this doesn't mean this is #2 in a series of 2.)

Mwha.

I agree with you portnoyd, I believe the 2 stood for the #2 of Blockbuster Championship.

As you guys know, I've been doing the SNES rarity blah blah blah blah blah.

OK, here are the facts.

1. There are print ads, promotional fliers, and various other forms of advertising for an SNES division of the Blockbuster World Video Game Championships.

2. There is no material that can be found that states any combonation of specific games in the SNES division (or the Genesis one for that matter).

3. It is possible that the carts themselves (SNES and Genesis) are reprogramable, possibly using eproms, and were reused at each of the two annual contests held.

4. It is unknown what Blockbuster did to the carts afterwards... there are conflicting reports by employees that state that the carts were (1) destroyed (2) given to employees (3) given to winners (4) sent back to BB headquarters.

Perhaps Portnoyd can solve a couple mysteries... perhaps, if it's possible... Port would be willing to open up his copy and check it out.

Of course, I'm not saying you should attempt it if it would result in damaging it.

Well, I need to know what bit opens this sucker up. It's standard Genesis screws, so whatever would work on a normal cart would work on this. It *definitely* feels like a normal cart weight wise. OH, and it's a Acclaim cart shell, with the Acclaim logo on the back.

But, I will ask the seller I got it from where he got it from.

"OH, and it's a Acclaim cart shell, with the Acclaim logo on the back."

Not at all bizarre, I forgot to note that Acclaim sponsered the tournament.

OK, if you open it up, be extremely careful. When in doubt, send the cart here to someone you can trust who can crack it open and examine it.
